Effect of Long Term Operation on Degradation of Material of Main Gas Pipelines

TL;DR: In this paper, the mechanisms of metal damage in the pipe of the main pipeline are investigated, the main reasons for their appearance are found and analysed, and the main results are obtained by joint use of metallography, indentation, method for processing and analysis of digital images.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fuzzy Logic Analysis of Parameters of Dimples of Ductile Tearing on the Digital Image of Fracture Surface

TL;DR: An automated method for analyzing shapes and sizes of dimples resulting from fracture of titanium alloy VT 23, which can be used in technical diagnostics systems, is proposed in this article, where the developed approaches to the analysis of images of fracture surfaces obtained from scanning microscope allow highlighting the components of the objects under study, performing their morphological analysis, and evaluating the mutual relationship between them.
Journal ArticleDOI

Digital Analysis of Shape and Size of Dimples of Ductile Tearing on Fracture Surface of Long-Operated Steel

TL;DR: In this article, an improved dimple image quantitative analysis method based on mathematics morphology was proposed, which allows identifying the elements of the network of dimples of ductile dearing, determining their number, shape and specific share within the analyzed area.
Journal Article

Physical regularities in the cracking of nanocoatings and a method for an automated determination of the crack-network parameters

TL;DR: In this paper, the regularities and spatial distribution of multiple cracking of a nanocoating are investigated, and it is found that in the cracking zones the relaxation of the stresses accumulated in the coating takes place; moreover, the intensity of its failure is determined by the structural level of defect accumulation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Methods and Some Results of Automated Analysis of Ductile Failure Mechanisms of Titanium Alloy VT-22☆

TL;DR: In this article, the shape of defects was assessed by the results of digital recognition, and their morphological features were analyzed by taking into account the spatial morphology of fracture and allowing assessing the divergence of dimples from the rounded shape.
