Prediction models for the yield strength of particle-reinforced unimodal pure magnesium (Mg) metal matrix nanocomposites (MMNCs)

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the yield strength of particle-reinforced MMNCs by considering individual strengthening mechanism candidates and yield strength prediction models and found that the incorporation of the coefficient of thermal expansion mismatch and modulus mismatch will considerably overestimate the experimental yield strength.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of TiO2 on the Viscosity and Slag Structure in Blast Furnace Type Slags

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the viscosity at constant TiO2 of 5 and 10 µm and varying CaO/SiO2 ratio, showing that increasing the CaO /SiO 2 ratio was more effective in decreasing the visosities than TiO 2 additions.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Review of the Relationship between Viscosity and the Structure of Calcium‐Silicate‐Based Slags in Ironmaking

TL;DR: In this paper, a review focusing on elucidating the viscosity of ironmaking slags and the effect of various components in the multi-component calcium-silicate-based slag system on the viscous behavior of this system were correlated using various widely used spectroscopic techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Effect of MgO on the Viscosity of the CaO-SiO2-20 wt%Al2O3-MgO Slag System

TL;DR: In this article, the viscosities of CaO-SiO2-20 wt%Al2O3-MgO slags were measured to estimate the effect of MgO on the viscous behaviour at elevated temperatures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Al2O3 and CaO/SiO2 on the Viscosity of Calcium-Silicate–Based Slags Containing 10 Mass Pct MgO

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of Al2O3 and CaO/SiO2 on the viscosity of the CaO-SiO 2-10 mass pct MgO-Al2O 3 slags was studied at fully liquid temperatures of 1773 K (1500 °C) and below.
