TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed an environmental temperature controlling apparatus that includes a depth of sleep measuring means 41 and a temperature controlling means 51, which detects a starting point of sleep T 0 of a human body and the function of measuring the depth of the human body 9 after the start of sleep.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently gain a sound sleep, namely, a comfortable awakening and a deep sleep by controlling an environmental temperature to match the biological sleep rhythm. SOLUTION: An environmental temperature controlling apparatus 1 includes a depth of sleep measuring means 41 and a temperature controlling means 51. The depth of sleep measuring means 41 has the function of detecting a starting point of sleep T 0 of a human body 9 and the function of measuring the depth of sleep of the human body 9 after the start of sleep and executes the detection of the starting point of sleep T 0 and the measurement of the depth of sleep after the start of sleep. The starting point of sleep T 0 and the depth of sleep are given to the temperature controlling means 51. The temperature controlling means 51 controls the environmental temperature on the basis of a cycle of the depth of sleep by decreasing the environmental temperature monotonously for at least a prescribed period from the starting point of sleep T 0 . The prescribed period is an interval between the starting point of sleep T 0 and the time when the depth of sleep reaches the second extreme value out of the extreme values showing the deep sleep. TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of providing a good sleep by cooling a local part of a human body such as a head part without disturbing falling-asleep was solved by cooling the head part from the time of falling asleep.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a good sleep by cooling a local part of a human body such as a head part without disturbing falling-asleep. SOLUTION: The subject thermoregulation apparatus is provided with a cooling/warming part 1, a temperature sensor 2 and a falling-asleep sensor 3. The temperature sensor 2 detects the temperature T of the head part, or the local part of a human body. The falling-asleep sensor 3 is provided with a body motion sensor 31 and a determination part 32, detects a time point of falling asleep and transmits it to a control part 11. Practically, the body motion sensor 31 detects the body motion of the human body to transmit it to the determination part 32. The determination part 32 finds the time t0 of falling asleep based on the body motion detected by the body motion sensor 31. The cooling/warming part 1 is provided with the control part 11 and a temperature regulation part 12. The control part 11 allows the temperature regulation part 12 to send air 100 regulated to a temperature lower than the temperature T of the head part from the time of falling asleep based on the temperature T of the head part as a local part of the human body detected by the temperature sensor 2. This constitution can cool the head part from the time of falling asleep. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI

TL;DR: In this article, a sleep controlling method includes steps 11-15, where a sleep is facilitated to make a starting point of the sleep earlier and an environmental temperature is reduced for a prescribed period after the starting of sleep.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regulate biorhythm by reducing an inhibition of a good sleep. SOLUTION: A sleep controlling method includes steps 11-15. In the step 11, a sleep is facilitated to make a starting point of the sleep earlier. In the step 12, an environmental temperature is reduced for a prescribed period after the starting of the sleep. In the step 13, the environmental temperature is maintained at the lowest value after the environmental temperature reaches the lowest value by the control in the step 12. In the step 14, an environment around a person before awakening is controlled. The step 14 includes a step 141 for increasing the environmental temperature, for example, monotonously increased for a prescribed period before an expected time of the awakening and a step 142 for facilitating the awakening. In the step 15, sleepiness after the awakening is reduced by applying light with stimulative brightness, color and temperature on a person. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a good condition of sleep while watching images projected on a display of a television or the like. SOLUTION: The system for regulating environment is mainly equipped with an air conditioner 1 and the display 2. The air conditioner 1 is equipped with a temperature conditioning control section 11, a transmitting section 12 and a temperature conditioning section 13. The display 2 is equipped with a projection control section 21, a receiving section 23 and a projection section 24. The temperature conditioning control section 11 makes the transmitting section 12 transmit a control command S21 to the display 2. The control command S21 makes the display 2 control the color tone of images. The receiving section 23 receives the control command S21 transmitted from the air conditioner 1. The projection control section 21 makes the projection section 24 display the images in tones having a calming effect based on the control command S21. After that, the temperature conditioning control section 11 makes the temperature conditioning section 13 lower the environmental temperature. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
