TL;DR: It is concluded that glucocorticoids interact directly with glucoc Corticoid receptors on vascular ECs to inhibit TLS formation, which was conserved in ECs from two distinct vascular territories, was due to alterations in cell morphology rather than inhibition of EC viability, migration or proliferation.

TL;DR: There is evidence that 11HSDs influence glucocorticoid-mediated changes in vascular contractility, vascular structure, the inflammatory response to injury and the growth of new blood vessels, so inhibition of 11HSD isozymes may provide a novel therapeutic target in vascular disease.
