Recommended Protocols for Instrumental Assessment of Voice: American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Expert Panel to Develop a Protocol for Instrumental Assessment of Vocal Function
Rita R. Patel,Shaheen N. Awan,Julie Barkmeier-Kraemer,Mark Courey,Dimitar D. Deliyski,Tanya L. Eadie,Diane Paul,Jan G. Švec,Robert E. Hillman +8 more
TL;DR: The recommended protocols for instrumental assessment of voice using laryngeal endoscopic imaging, acoustic, and aerodynamic methods will enable clinicians and researchers to collect a uniform set of valid and reliable measures that can be compared across assessments, clients, and facilities.
Videokymography : High-speed line scanning of vocal fold vibration
Jan G. Švec,Harm K. Schutte +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a video camera is used for high-speed visualization of the vocal folds of the human laryngeal larynx, where the camera selects one active horizontal line (transverse to the glottis) from the whole image and the successive line images are presented in real time o a commercial TV monitor.
Journal ArticleDOI
Videokymography : High-speed line scanning of vocal fold vibration
Jan G. Švec,Harm K. Schutte +1 more
TL;DR: A digital technique for high-speed visualization of vibration, called videokymography, was developed and applied to the vocal folds and is suitable for further processing and quantification of recorded vibration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Vocal tract and glottal function during and after vocal exercising with resonance tube and straw
Marco Guzman,Anne-Maria Laukkanen,Petr Krupa,Jaromír Horáček,Jan G. Švec,Ahmed Geneid,Ahmed Geneid +6 more
TL;DR: CT and acoustic results indicated that vocal exercises with increased vocal tract impedance lead to increased vocal efficiency and economy and one of the major changes was the more prominent singer's/speaker's formant cluster.
Journal ArticleDOI
Videokymography in Voice Disorders: What to Look For?
TL;DR: The variations in the identified features reveal different behavioral origins of voice disorders, which open new possibilities for objective documentation and for monitoring vocal fold behavior in clinical practice through kymographic imaging.
