A minimum Z height handheld electronic device and methods of assembly is described. The electronic device includes a single seamless housing having a front opening and a cover disposed within the front opening and attached to the seamless housing without a bezel.

A portable computer that is configurable between a plurality of display modes including a laptop mode (in which the portable computer has a conventional laptop appearance) and an easel mode in which the base of the computer and its display component stand vertically forming an inverted “V.” The portable computer includes a hinge assembly that couples the display component to the base of the computer, and allows the display component to be rotated about an axis along an interface between the display component and the base to configure the portable computer between a closed position, the laptop mode and the easel mode. The portable computer further comprises a scroll wheel and optional navigation buttons that permit a user to control or manipulate various aspects of operation of the portable computer (such as volume or display brightness) and/or content displayed the computer.

Various aspects and embodiments are directed to a graphical user interface that organizes interface elements into views of computer content for presentation to a user. Different views of are used to provide an interface that is responsive to configurations of the device and responsive to activity being performed by the user. Aspects include permitting the user to transition the device from one configuration to another during its use, for example from easel to laptop modes. Further the elements that comprise the graphical user interface are configured to present a summarized view of available actions and content, in order to simplify user interaction. The different views present different organizations of the interface elements and in some example display only certain ones of the modes of content in order to reduce the number of options a user must navigate to accomplish an objective. According to another aspect, methods and systems for streamlining user interaction with computer content are provided. In some embodiments, streamlining includes pre-configuring a user device based on received information. Other embodiments include presenting consistent visual representations used to navigated to views that present computer content.

System and method for streamlining user interaction with electronic content

A protective cover arranged to secure a tablet computer having a processor coupled to a display comprising an upper protective layer, the protective cover comprising: a cover having a first side and a second side opposite the first side, comprising: on the first side, a first magnet configured to provide a first magnetic field passing through the top protective layer and is detectable by a sensor disposed below the upper protective layer only when the cover is in contact with the upper protective layer a closed configuration, and a separate second magnet of the first magnet configured to ensure magnetically cover the upper protective layer forming a magnetic attraction through the upper protective layer attracting magnetically third magnet of opposite polarity disposed below the protective top layer, wherein only when the sensor detects the first magnet, the senso r provides a first detection signal to the processor, wherein the processor responds to the first detection signal preventing the screen present visual content. 2. The protective cover of claim 1, further comprising: on the second side, a mechanism for pivotally coupling releasably coupling the cap to a second axis tablet computer in a predetermined location and orientation relative to the screen, pivotal coupling mechanism allowing the lid to move smoothly from a configuration substantially the entire exposed upper protective layer to the closed configuration. 3. The protective cover of claim 2, further comprising the folding lid: a plurality of independently bendable segments comprising a first segment and a second segment on the second side of the folding lid, the second segment comprising the first magnet, wherein the plurality of bendable segments independently of each bend relative to each other and the tablet computer to form a folded state of the folding roof. 4. The protective cover according to claim 3, comprising a first folded state the first segment in contact with the upper protective layer, and the second segment bent away from the upper protective layer to reveal a first visible part of the screen in a first mode Of vision. 5. The protective cover of claim 4, wherein the processor presents visual content first view mode according to the first part corresponding to visible visual resources. 6. The protective cover according to claim 5, tablet computer one second sensor coupled to the processor, wherein the first sensor and the second sensor cooperate to send information to the processor further comprising, information used to determine the first folded state. 7. The protective cover according to claim 6, the folding lid further comprising: a third collapsible segment independently disposed between the first segment and the second segment. 8. The protective cover according to claim 7, the first segment comprising a magnetically attractable element. 9. The protective cover of claim 8, the folded state support tablet computer comprising: a triangular structure comprising the first and second bent segments upon each other to create a magnetic attraction between the attractable element magnetically in the first segment and second magnets to form a first side of the triangular structure. 10. The protective cover of claim 9, the folded state tablet computer support configured to hold tablet computer on a horizontal surface at a suitable angle to display visual content displayed on the screen. 11. The protective cover of claim 10, wherein the first sensor is a Hall effect sensor. 12. The protective covering of claim 11, wherein the second sensor is an image capture device. 13. The protective cover of claim 11, wherein the second sensor is an ambient light sensor (ALS). 14. The protective covering of claim 11, wherein the second sensor is a second Hall effect sensor.
