Dielectric, viscous and elastic properties of nematogenic 1-(4- trans -propylcyclohexyl)-2-(4-cyanophenyl)ethane

TL;DR: In this paper, the static and dynamic electric permittivity, the shear viscosity of a freely flowing sample, and the splay and bend elastic constants for 1-(4-trans -propylcyclohexyl)-2-( 4-cyanophenyl)ethane (C3H7-CyHx-CH2CH2-Ph-C=N) (3CCPE) were determined from the voltage dependence of the capacitance of a planar nematic cell.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structural transitions in nematic liquid crystals doped with magnetite functionalized single walled carbon nanotubes

TL;DR: In this article, the 4-(trans-∂ -n-hexylcyclohexyl)-isothiocyanatobenzene (6CHBT) nematic liquid crystal was doped with single walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) and with magnetite labeled single-walled carbon Nanotubes, and the critical voltage of the Freedericksz transition depends significantly on the bias magnetic field.
Journal ArticleDOI

Linear and nonlinear dipolar relaxation of 4,4′-n-hexylcyanobiphenyl

TL;DR: In this paper, the results of the studies of the Debye function and the nonlinear dipolar relaxation (described by the Coffey function) have been presented for diluted solution of 4,4′-n-hexylcyanobiphenyl (6-CB) in benzene at 25°C.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dielectric Behaviour of 1-(4-Isothiocyanatophenyl)-2-(4-hexyl- bicyclo[2,2,2]octane-1)ethane in Nematic and Isotropic Phases

TL;DR: In this paper, the debye functions have been used to describe the rotation of the permanent dipole moment around two main molecular axes in the liquid crystal 1-(4isothio-cyanatophenyl)-2-(4hexyl-bicyclo[2,2, 2] octane-1)ethane in the nematic and isotropic phases.
