Incipient myelomatosis or «essential« hyperglobulinemia with fibrinogenopenia — a new syndrome?
Journal ArticleDOI
Malignant carcinoid of the small intestine with metastases to the liver, valvular disease of the right side of the heart (pulmonary stenosis and tricuspid regurgitation without septal defects), peripheral vasomotor symptoms, bronchoconstriction, and an unusual type of cyanosis; a clinical and pathologic syndrome.
TL;DR: Among those substances with vaso-active properties at present known, 5-hydroxytryptamine (enteramine or serotonin) is the one which in its effects seems most likely to correspond with the signs and symptoms of the syndrome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Benign monoclonal gammapathy

Journal ArticleDOI
A new improved clinical staging system for multiple myeloma based on analysis of 123 treated patients
Giampaolo Merlini,Giampaolo Merlini,Jan Waldenström,Jan Waldenström,Suresh D. Jayakar,Suresh D. Jayakar +5 more
TL;DR: The comparison of the duration of survival between the three groups of staged patients confirmed the high reliability of the present staging system, and bivariate correlation and multivariate regression analyses showed that the survival could be accurately predicted in IgG and pure Bence Jones myeloma patients.
