Journal ArticleDOI

Genome-wide analysis highlights contribution of immune system pathways to the genetic architecture of asthma.

TL;DR: A genome-wide analysis for asthma is reported, identifying 66 previously unknown asthma loci and demonstrating that the susceptibility alleles in these regions are associated with risk to a greater extent in men than women, and a murine anti-CD52 antibody mimics the immune cell-depleting effects of a clinically used human anti- CD52 antibody and reduces allergen-induced airway hyperreactivity in mice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genome-wide analysis identifies novel susceptibility loci for myocardial infarction

Jaana Hartiala, +68 more
TL;DR: A large-scale analysis comprising ∼831 000 subjects revealed novel genetic determinants of MI and implicated SLC44A3 in the pathophysiology of vulnerable plaques and thrombus formation as mentioned in this paper.
