Journal ArticleDOI
A haemodynamic study of pulmonary hypertension in chronic hypersensitivity pneumonitis
Rudolf K.F. Oliveira,Carlos Alberto de Castro Pereira,Roberta Pulcheri Ramos,Eloara V.M. Ferreira,Carolina M.S. Messina,Lilian T. Kuranishi,Andrea Gimenez,Orlando Campos,Celia Camelo Silva,Jaquelina S. Ota-Arakaki +9 more
TL;DR: Pre-capillary pulmonary hypertension is common in symptomatic chronic hypersensitivity pneumonitis and is related to interstitial lung disease severity and is more prevalent in hypoxaemic patients with impaired lung function and exercise capacity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Current strategies for managing chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension: results of the worldwide prospective CTEPH Registry
Stefan Guth,Andrea Maria D'Armini,Marion Delcroix,Kazuhiko Nakayama,Elie Fadel,Stephen P. Hoole,David P. Jenkins,David G. Kiely,Nick H. Kim,Irene M. Lang,Michael M. Madani,Hiromi Matsubara,Aiko Ogawa,Jaquelina S. Ota-Arakaki,Rozenn Quarck,Roela Sadushi-Kolici,Gérald Simonneau,Christoph B. Wiedenroth,Bedrettin Yildizeli,Eckhard Mayer,Joanna Pepke-Zaba +20 more
TL;DR: In the CTEPH registry as discussed by the authors, pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA), pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) therapy and balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) are currently accepted therapies for chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH).
Journal ArticleDOI
Optimizing the evaluation of excess exercise ventilation for prognosis assessment in pulmonary arterial hypertension.
Eloara V.M. Ferreira,Jaquelina S. Ota-Arakaki,Roberta Pulcheri Ramos,Priscila B. Barbosa,Melline Almeida,Erika Treptow,Fabricio M. Valois,Luiz Eduardo Nery,J. Alberto Neder,J. Alberto Neder +9 more
TL;DR: Measurements of excessive exercise ventilation which consider all data points maximize the usefulness of incremental cardiopulmonary exercise testing in the prognosis evaluation of PAH.
Journal ArticleDOI
Usefulness of pulmonary capillary wedge pressure as a correlate of left ventricular filling pressures in pulmonary arterial hypertension
Rudolf K.F. Oliveira,Eloara V.M. Ferreira,Roberta Pulcheri Ramos,Carolina M.S. Messina,Carlos Eduardo Bernini Kapins,Celia Camelo Silva,Jaquelina S. Ota-Arakaki +6 more
TL;DR: A PCWP ≤15 mm Hg was found to be a reliable indicator of normal LVFP in pre-capillary PH patients and is a valuable tool for accurate diagnosis of PAH.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnostic and prognostic value of right ventricular strain in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension and relatively preserved functional capacity studied with echocardiography and magnetic resonance
Augusto Alberto da Costa Junior,Jaquelina S. Ota-Arakaki,Roberta Pulcheri Ramos,Marly Uellendahl,Frederico José Neves Mancuso,Manuel Adán Gil,Claudio Henrique Fischer,Valdir Ambrósio Moisés,Antonio Carlos de Camargo Carvalho,Orlando Campos +9 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that RVFreeWSt may be a suitable non-geometric 2DE surrogate of CMR-RVEF in PAH patients, constituting a powerful independent predictor of long-term outcome in this cohort with relatively preserved functional capacity.
