A Study of the Thermohydrodynamic Performance of a Plain Journal Bearing Comparison Between Theory and Experiments

TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss thermohydrodynamique theorique and experimental d'un palier de longueur finie, l'analyse tenant compte du transfert de chaleur entre le film, L'arbre, le manchon, la cavitation, la recirculation du lubrifiant, and the recurrence du lube.
Book

Hydrodynamic Lubrication: Bearings and Thrust Bearings

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compare the thermal effects of journal bearing design with the theoretical results and experiments applied to a turbine bearing thermal effects in the non-laminar regime.
Journal ArticleDOI

Theoretical Analysis of the Incompressible Laminar Flow in a Macro-Roughness Cell

TL;DR: In this article, the analysis of the incompressible laminar shear driven flow in a channel of which one of the walls carries a macro roughness pattern while the opposite one has a parallel velocity is discussed from the standpoint of lubrication theory and it is shown that the usual simplified models as the Reynolds or the Stokes equations are not applicable.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental Study of Tilting-Pad Journal Bearings—Comparison With Theoretical Thermoelastohydrodynamic Results

TL;DR: In this article, the operating characteristics of four-shoe tilling-pad journal bearings of 100 mm diameter and 70 mm length were determined on an experimental device, where the load, between pad configuration, varies from 0 to 10,000 N and the rotational speed is up to 4000 rpm.
