Journal ArticleDOI
A trial of intraoperative low-tidal-volume ventilation in abdominal surgery.
Emmanuel Futier,Jean-Michel Constantin,Catherine Paugam-Burtz,Julien Pascal,Mathilde Eurin,Arthur Neuschwander,Emmanuel Marret,Marc Beaussier,Christophe Gutton,Jean-Yves Lefrant,Bernard Allaouchiche,Daniel Verzilli,Marc Leone,Audrey De Jong,Jean-Etienne Bazin,Bruno Pereira,Samir Jaber +16 more
TL;DR: The use of a lung-protective ventilation strategy in intermediate-risk and high-risk patients undergoing major abdominal surgery was associated with improved clinical outcomes and reduced health care utilization.
Journal ArticleDOI
Timing of Renal-Replacement Therapy in Patients with Acute Kidney Injury and Sepsis.
Saber Barbar,Raphaël Clere-Jehl,Abderrahmane Bourredjem,Romain Hernu,Florent Montini,Rémi Bruyère,Christine Lebert,Julien Bohé,Julio Badie,Jean-Pierre Eraldi,Jean-Philippe Rigaud,Bruno Levy,Shidasp Siami,Guillaume Louis,Lila Bouadma,Jean-Michel Constantin,Emmanuelle Mercier,Kada Klouche,Damien du Cheyron,Gaël Piton,Djillali Annane,Samir Jaber,Thierry Van Der Linden,Gilles Blasco,Jean-Paul Mira,Carole Schwebel,Loïc Chimot,Philippe Guiot,Mai-Anh Nay,Ferhat Meziani,Julie Helms,Claire Roger,Benjamin Louart,Remi Trusson,Auguste Dargent,Christine Binquet,Jean-Pierre Quenot +36 more
TL;DR: Among patients with septic shock who had severe acute kidney injury, there was no significant difference in overall mortality at 90 days between patients who were assigned to an early strategy for the initiation of renal‐replacement therapy and those who were assign to a delayed strategy.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Trial of Intraoperative Low-Tidal-Volume Ventilation in Abdominal Surgery
Emmanuel Futier,Jean-Michel Constantin,Catherine Paugam-Burtz,Julien Pascal,Mathilde Eurin,Arthur Neuschwander,Emmanuel Marret,Marc Beaussier,Christophe Gutton,Jean-Yves Lefrant,Bernard Allaouchiche,Daniel Verzilli,Marc Leone,Audrey De Jong,Jean-Etienne Bazin,Bruno Pereira,Samir Jaber +16 more
TL;DR: In this article, the use of lung-protective ventilation strategy in intermediate-risk and high-risk patients undergoing major abdominal surgery was associated with improved clinical out comes and reduced health care utilization.
Journal ArticleDOI
Liberal or Conservative Oxygen Therapy for Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome.
Loïc Barrot,Pierre Asfar,Frédéric Mauny,Hadrien Winiszewski,Florent Montini,Julio Badie,Jean-Pierre Quenot,Sebastien Pili-Floury,Belaid Bouhemad,Guillaume Louis,Bertrand Souweine,Olivier Collange,Julien Pottecher,Bruno Levy,Marc Puyraveau,Lucie Vettoretti,Jean-Michel Constantin,Gilles Capellier,Loco Investigators +18 more
TL;DR: Early exposure to a conservative-oxygenation strategy with a Pao2 between 55 and 70 mm Hg did not increase survival at 28 days, and targeting the lower limit of this range would improve outcomes in patients with ARDS.
Journal ArticleDOI
The measurement of pain in intensive care unit: Comparison of 5 self-report intensity scales
Gerald Chanques,Eric Viel,Jean-Michel Constantin,Jean-Michel Constantin,Boris Jung,Sylvie de Lattre,Julie Carr,M. Cisse,Jean-Yves Lefrant,Samir Jaber +9 more
TL;DR: The NRS‐V should be the tool of choice for the ICU setting, because it is the most feasible and discriminative self‐report scale for measuring critically ill patients’ pain intensity.
