Journal ArticleDOI
A Survey of LoRaWAN for IoT: From Technology to Application
TL;DR: A detailed description of the technology is given, including existing security and reliability mechanisms, and a strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis is presented along with the challenges that LoRa and LoRaWAN still face.
Journal ArticleDOI
Scalability Analysis of Large-Scale LoRaWAN Networks in ns-3
TL;DR: In this article, a LoRa error model is constructed from extensive complex baseband bit error rate simulations and used as an interference model in an ns-3 module that enables to study multichannel, multispreading factor, multigateway, bi-directional LoRaWAN networks with thousands of end devices.
Journal ArticleDOI
LoRa Scalability: A Simulation Model Based on Interference Measurements
TL;DR: This study investigates the scalability in terms of the number of end devices per gateway of single-gateway LoRaWAN deployments, and determines the intra-technology interference behavior with two physical end nodes, by checking the impact of an interfering node on a transmitting node.
Journal ArticleDOI
Low Overhead Scheduling of LoRa Transmissions for Improved Scalability
TL;DR: It is shown that in case of a nonsaturated multichannel LoRaWAN network with synchronization being done in a separate channel, the packet delivery ratio (PDR) is easily 7% to 30% higher than in an unsynchronized LoRa WAN network.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
LoRa indoor coverage and performance in an industrial environment: Case study
Jetmir Haxhibeqiri,Abdulkadir Karaagac,Floris Van den Abeele,Wout Joseph,Ingrid Moerman,Jeroen Hoebeke +5 more
TL;DR: The use case for this paper is taken from the flower industry, where a large number of trolleys need to communicate with a server during their movement across the auction floor area, and it is shown that with a single LoRa gateway the total covered area will be higher and the area outside the factory is covered when switching to spreading factor 12.
