Red American Ginseng: Ginsenoside Constituents and Antiproliferative Activities of Heat-Processed Panax quinquefolius Roots

TL;DR: The antiproliferative activities of red American ginseng are augmented when ginsenoside Rg3 is increased, and the activity of the extract from roots steaming for 2 h was greater than that of roots steamed for 1 h.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phytochemical and analytical studies of Panax notoginseng (Burk.) F.H. Chen

TL;DR: Fifty-six saponins from notoginseng were isolated and elucidated, and it was demonstrated that no oleanane-type saponin, which exists in Asian ginseng (Panaxginseng) and American ginseneng ( Panax quinquefolius), was found.
Journal ArticleDOI

Determination of major ginsenosides in Panax quinquefolius (American ginseng) using high-performance liquid chromatography.

TL;DR: In order to determine the active ingredients in root extracts of Panax quinquefolius (American ginseng), a gradient HPLC method involving UV photodiode array detection was applied to separate and quantify simultaneously the ginsenosides Rb1, Rb2, Rc, Rd, Re, Rf and Rg1.
Journal ArticleDOI

Exomic Analysis of Myxoid Liposarcomas, Synovial Sarcomas, and Osteosarcomas

TL;DR: Sequenced exomes of 13 osteosarcomas provided intriguing nucleotide‐level information on these relatively uncommon neoplasms and highlight pathways that help explain their pathogenesis, including H3F3A, encoding the variant histone H3.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antihyperglycemic effects of total ginsenosides from leaves and stem of Panax ginseng

TL;DR: The results indicated that in a diabetic ob/ob mouse model TGCG was endowed with significant anti-hyperglycemic and anti-obesity properties, and the total ginsenosides extracted from Chinese ginseng leaves and the stem may have some potential for treating diabetes.
