Multicriteria renewable energy planning using an integrated fuzzy VIKOR & AHP methodology: The case of Istanbul

Enterprise architecture (EA) is an approach for managing all components of enterprise and relationships among them. By implementing EA, the organization will be threatened from different aspects. We used failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) which is a powerful tool for evaluating EA risks. In traditional FMEA, risk priority number (RPN), has been calculated by multiplication of three criteria, severity, occurrence and detection. Because of some drawbacks of the traditional FMEA, this paper--instead of calculating RPN--prioritizes EA risk factors with fuzzy VIKOR. VIKOR (VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje in Serbian, means Multi-criteria Optimization and Compromise Solution) is a multiple attribute decision making technique which aims to rank EA risk factors with respect to the criteria. As regards using linguistic variables, fuzzy approach is used to allow experts to use linguistic variables. The proposed method is used for evaluating twenty EA risk factors, which integrates knowledge and experience acquired from professional experts.

Identifying and evaluating enterprise architecture risks using FMEA and fuzzy VIKOR

Research highlights? An integrated fuzzy VIKOR-AHP methodology is suggested. ? The weights of the selection criteria are determined by fuzzy AHP. ? The methodology is applied to a forestation district selection problem. Forestation and forest preservation in urban watersheds are issues of vital importance as forested watersheds not only preserve the water supplies of a city but also contribute to soil erosion prevention. The use of fuzzy multiple criteria decision aid (MCDA) in urban forestation has the advantage of rendering subjective and implicit decision making more objective and transparent. An additional merit of fuzzy MCDA is its ability to accommodate quantitative and qualitative data. In this paper an integrated VIKOR-AHP methodology is proposed to make a selection among the alternative forestation areas in Istanbul. In the proposed methodology, the weights of the selection criteria are determined by fuzzy pairwise comparison matrices of AHP. It is found that Omerli watershed is the most appropriate forestation district in Istanbul.

Fuzzy multiple criteria forestry decision making based on an integrated VIKOR and AHP approach

Energy is one of the main factors that must be considered in the discussions of sustainable development. The basic dimensions of sustainability of energy production are environmentally, technically, economically and socially sustainable supply of energy resources that, in the long term, is reliable, adequate and affordable. Renewable, clean and cost effective energy sources are preferred but unfortunately no one of the alternative energy sources can meet these demands solely. So, the problem of determining the sustainable energy planning is a strategic tool for the development. In this dissertation, the aim of this study is to determine the best renewable energy technology for sustainable energy planning. For this aim, we used AHP methodology, which is a multi-criteria decision making (MDCM) method. In the proposed method, the weights of the selection criteria are determined by pairwise comparison matrices of the AHP. Results indicate that wind energy is the most appropriate renewable energy option in this study. Future researches could be conducted based on different multi-criteria decision-making techniques such as ANP, fuzzy ELECTRE or fuzzy TOPSIS for comparative purposes. Evaluating the best renewable energy technology for sustainable energy planning

Magnetic material selection using multiple attribute decision making approach

Decision or selection making is a vital part of daily life; of which the major concern is that almost all issues requiring decisions have multiple, often conflicting, criteria. In reality, there is no avoidance of the coexistence of qualitative and quantitative data, and the data are often full of fuzziness and uncertainty. In order to mediate the conflicts and contradictions in the reconciliatory process and act in response to the lack of flexibility while adopting traditional multi-criteria method to solve fuzzy problems, the study intends to use Fuzzy VIKOR methods to solve fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making problems. Fuzzy VIKOR aims to find the decision-maker's preferable compromise that suits human objective cognition. In this paper, we use case analysis to sort out the systematic solution process, and eventually come up with a best solution and compromise solution that can be an important reference of decision-making. Finally, our conclusion and suggestion for advanced works are also offered.

Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis by Using Fuzzy VIKOR

Intervening in the revitalization and development of art villages is one of the ways to build regional brands in rural areas, fit in with contemporary aesthetics, and meet the needs of modern people for diversified life. At the same time, it is not limited by artistry itself, but a comprehensive artistic activity with modernity, industrial linkage, and sustainability. This paper uses the HPR (Hestenes–Powell–Rockafellar) multiplier method to solve and establishes a SSFCM-HPR (semisupervised fuzzy C-means clustering based on HPR) algorithm. The experimental results on datasets show that FCM-UserCF (fuzzy C-means-user collaborative filtering) algorithm effectively solves the problem of data sparsity and improves the accuracy of recommendation. Rural planning and design under the intervention of art is a kind of respect for local memory, an inheritance of folk crafts, a reshaping of history and culture, and an identification with the countryside itself. It also puts forward new development ideas and guiding methods for the sustainable development of rural areas.
