Journal ArticleDOI

Enhanced 2,3-butanediol production by Klebsiella oxytoca using a two-stage agitation speed control strategy

TL;DR: A two-stage agitation speed control strategy, aimed at achieving high concentration, high yield and high productivity of 2,3-butanediol, was proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development of an industrial medium for economical 2,3-butanediol production through co-fermentation of glucose and xylose by Klebsiella oxytoca.

TL;DR: The cheap nitrogen source and nutrition factors combining the co-fermentation process using lignocellulose derived glucose and xylose as the carbon source in the developed medium would be a potential solution to improve the economics of microbial 2,3-butanediol production.
Journal ArticleDOI

Efficient 1,3-propanediol Production by Fed-Batch Culture of Klebsiella Pneumoniae : The Role of pH Fluctuation

TL;DR: A self-protection mechanism in K. pneumoniae cells switch the metabolic pathways responding to environmental pH changes, which was proposed and fulfilled under the pH-stat fed-batch strategy under the periodical low or high pH stress.
Journal ArticleDOI

Improved 1,3-propanediol production with hemicellulosic hydrolysates (corn straw) as cosubstrate: Impact of degradation products on Klebsiella pneumoniae growth and 1,3-propanediol fermentation.

TL;DR: Xylose and mannose could efficiently promote the 1,3-PD production and cell growth and Furfural and sodium acetate in low concentration were not inhibitory to Klebsiella pneumoniae, rather they have stimulatory effect on the growth and 1, 3-PD biosynthesis, especially the acetate.
