Journal ArticleDOI

Review of CO2 absorption using chemical solvents in hollow fiber membrane contactors

TL;DR: In this paper, a hollow fiber membrane contactor is used to separate CO2 from a gas stream, which is a promising alternative to conventional techniques such as column absorption, and the major advantages of the membrane absorption are the larger interfacial area, better device-modularity and more operational flexibility.
Journal ArticleDOI

Surface nanogrooving of carbon microtubes.

TL;DR: The measurements showed that nanogrooving increases the surface area of carbon microtubes, as a result, die swelling of the extrudate is reduced and the mechanical strength of composite is reinforced due to stronger interactions between Nanogrooved carbon tubes and polymer matrix.
Journal ArticleDOI

In vitro cancer cell imaging and therapy using transferrin-conjugated gold nanoparticles.

TL;DR: Results show that, the transferrin-transferrin receptor-mediated cellular uptake of gold nanoparticles is six times of that in the absence of this interaction, and the laser power effective for photothermal therapy of the cancer cells was reduced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Graphene oxide nanoparticles as a nonbleaching optical probe for two-photon luminescence imaging and cell therapy

TL;DR: Under femtosecond laser irradiation, graphene oxide nanoparticles (GONs) give strong two-photon luminescence (TPL) and induces microbubbling, which causes cell death at an order of magnitude lower laser power than when cells are not labeled.
