Distortion Minimization for Ultra-Low THD Class-D Power Amplifiers
Mario Mauerer,Johann W. Kolar +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of key sources of total harmonic distortion (THD) in power output signals of digitally controlled switchmode (Class-D) converters/amplifiers are analyzed.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Impact of PV String Shading Conditions on Panel Voltage Equalizing Converters and Pareto Optimization of a Single Converter System
TL;DR: In this article, a balancing converter concept with ZVS is introduced and the operation of a string of PV panels equipped with balancing converters is analytically described, based on this analytic framework, different examples of shading scenarios of a PV string are examined regarding the average inductor current values that occur within the balancing modules, in order to derive the required specifications of a balanced converter.
Evaluation of a Delta-Connection of Three Single-Phase Unity Power Factor Rectifier Systems (Delta-Rectifier) in Comparison to a Direct Three-Phase Rectifier Realization. Part I - Modulation Schemes and Input Current Ripple
TL;DR: In this paper, the delta connection of three single-phase boost unity power factor rectifier units ( ∆-rectifier) is analyzed based on an equivalent star connection, and the stresses on the power components are calculated in analytical form in order to provide a basis for a comprehensive comparative evaluation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cogging Torque Shape Optimization of an Integrated Generator for Electromechanical Energy Harvesting
TL;DR: An approach for shaping the stator geometry of a permanent-magnet (PM) synchronous machine, such that an arbitrary CT pattern can be obtained by an iterative algorithm, which adds sinusoidal air gap modulation components on an initial machine geometry.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Analysis of the trade-off between input current quality and efficiency of high switching frequency PWM rectifiers
M. Hartmann,Johann W. Kolar +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a Pareto curve in the η-THD space is drawn which highlights the relationship between the nonlinear behavior of the output capacitance of power MOSFETs and input current distortions.
