Journal ArticleDOI

Computing one-dimensional metasurfaces

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that complex periodic metasurfaces can be represented by conformal transformations from the flat surface of a slab of material to a periodic grating leading to a methodology for computing their properties.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inelastic scattering of low-energy electrons by tight-binding electrons

TL;DR: The absorption of elastic flux for electrons with energies in the range 0-20 Hartrees (0-500 eV) interacting with tightly bound bands in a crystal was studied in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

The expansion of Tensor-LEED in Cartesian coordinates

TL;DR: In this paper, the coefficients of such a power series expansion can be derived from the first-order Tensor-LEED approximation by evaluating simple recurrence relations, and a new way of shifting the origin of coordinates by using the full second-order tensor-leed approximation is developed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reflection of waves from disordered surfaces

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focus on the reflection coefficient, a closely related quantity, and suggest a novel formulation of the problem in terms of transfer matrices, which can be calculated explicitly and, although in principle of infinite dimensions, can be approximated by a truncated form.
