Journal ArticleDOI
Self-regulation and autonomy in problem- and project-based learning environments:
TL;DR: The authors investigate the relationship between contexts in which learning occurs and students' behaviours, cognitions and motivations, and further understand how instruction is related to students' behaviors, attitudes and motivations.
Journal ArticleDOI
The sources of heat generation in vibrothermography
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present experimental verification of the sources of heat generation in vibrothermography, specifically friction, plasticity, and viscoelasticity, with specific experimental evidence that verifies each of these heat-generating mechanisms.
Journal ArticleDOI
Classes That Click: Fast, Rich Feedback to Enhance Student Learning and Satisfaction
TL;DR: In this paper, a crossover design of experiment was used to improve student learning in foundation engineering courses, where one author was randomly chosen to receive feedback with handheld computers (the treatment) while the other received the control, which was either a feedback system using flashcards (in year 1) or no feedback (year 2).

The Effect of Different Active Learning Environments on Student Outcomes Related to Lifelong Learning
TL;DR: This article investigated how instructor choices of active learning pedagogies affect student outcomes related to their development as lifelong learners at four institutions and found that student self-regulated learning is a proxy for lifelong learning in the context of the formal classroom.
