Journal ArticleDOI

Thiocarbamates and surface lipid synthesis.

TL;DR: 41 Egli, M. A, Gengenbach, H. G., Gronwald, J. W., Somers, L l .
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of thiolactomycin analogues on fatty acid synthesis in peas (Pisum sativum cv. Onward)

TL;DR: It is shown that several of the analogues produce greater inhibition of fatty acid synthesis than thiolactomycin itself, and that the most effective analogue structures are 5 and 6, both of which are more hydrophobic than thioesterol, which is an inhibitor of type I1 dissociable fatty acid synthases from plants and bacteria.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of pebulate and pebulate sulphoxide on very long chain fatty acid biosynthesis

TL;DR: Suggestions that thiocarbamates are oxidised to their sulphoxide derivatives for full herbicidal activity and it is the latter which inhibit VLCFA and, hence, surface wax synthesis are confirmed.
Journal Article

The cloning and overexpression of E. coli acyl carrier protein

TL;DR: Acyl carrier protein (ACP) is a small protein which is essential for fatty acid synthesis and can be used as a substitute for plant ACP in many assays for plant fatty acid synthetase activity.
