Toward discovery science of human brain function

Bharat B. Biswal, +54 more
TL;DR: The 1000 Functional Connectomes Project (Fcon_1000) as discussed by the authors is a large-scale collection of functional connectome data from 1,414 volunteers collected independently at 35 international centers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reliable intrinsic connectivity networks: test-retest evaluation using ICA and dual regression approach.

TL;DR: The present work systematically evaluated the test-retest reliability of TC-GICA derived RSFC measures over the short-term (<45 min) and long-term (5-16 months) and found moderate-to-high short-and-long-term test
Journal ArticleDOI

Personality Is Reflected in the Brain's Intrinsic Functional Architecture

TL;DR: Personality traits were mostly associated with functional connections that were inconsistently present across participants, suggesting that although a fundamental, core functional architecture is preserved across individuals, variable connections outside of that core encompass the inter-individual differences in personality that motivate diverse responses.
Journal ArticleDOI

Residual functional connectivity in the split-brain revealed with resting-state functional MRI.

TL;DR: Using independent components analysis and region-of-interest-based functional connectivity analyses, bilateral resting state networks are demonstrated in a patient lacking all major cerebral commissures, suggesting that cortical networks in the brain can be coordinated by subcortical mechanisms.
