Journal ArticleDOI
A Robust Longitudinal Co-culture of Obligate Anaerobic Gut Microbiome With Human Intestinal Epithelium in an Anoxic-Oxic Interface-on-a-Chip.
Woojung Shin,Alexander Wu,Miles W. Massidda,Charles R. Foster,Newin Thomas,Dong Woo Lee,Hong Koh,Youngwon Ju,Joohoon Kim,Hyun-Jung Kim,Hyun-Jung Kim +10 more
TL;DR: This new protocol for creating an AOI in a microfluidic gut-on-a-chip may enable to demonstrate the key physiological interactions of obligate anaerobic gut microbiome with the host cells associated with intestinal metabolism, homeostasis, and immune regulation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tunability of the Adsorbate Binding on Bimetallic Alloy Nanoparticles for the Optimization of Catalytic Hydrogenation.
TL;DR: It is shown that PtAu and PdAu random alloy dendrimer-encapsulated nanoparticles have different catalytic activity trends for allyl alcohol hydrogenation, and these results have significant implications for predicting the catalytic performance of bimetallic nanoparticles on the basis of density functional theory calculations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Peptide Arrays Identify Isoform-Selective Substrates for Profiling Endogenous Lysine Deacetylase Activity
TL;DR: This work describes a general route for identifying selective substrates that can be used to understand the differential roles of members of the deacetylase enzyme family in complex biological processes and avoids perturbation of enzyme activity that has plagued fluorescence-based assays.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dendrimer-encapsulated Pt nanoparticles with peroxidase-mimetic activity as biocatalytic labels for sensitive colorimetric analyses
Youngwon Ju,Joohoon Kim +1 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated the feasible use of Pt nanoparticles encapsulated inside amine-terminated fourth-generation polyamidoamine dendrimers as peroxidase-mimetic labels for sensitive colorimetric assays.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modification of Indium Tin Oxide with Dendrimer-Encapsulated Nanoparticles To Provide Enhanced Stable Electrochemiluminescence of Ru(bpy)32+/Tripropylamine While Preserving Optical Transparency of Indium Tin Oxide for Sensitive Electrochemiluminescence-Based Analyses
Yeoju Kim,Joohoon Kim +1 more
TL;DR: Highly enhanced stable electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) of Ru(bpy)3(2+) with tripropylamine (TPrA) coreactant on indium tin oxide (ITO) electrodes modified with amine-terminated dendrimers encapsulating catalytic nanoparticles while maintaining optical transparency of ITO and feasibility of the modified ITOs to sensitive ECL-based assays is reported.
