Journal ArticleDOI
Impaired autophagic flux is associated with increased endoplasmic reticulum stress during the development of NAFLD
Águeda González-Rodríguez,Raúl Mayoral,Noelia Agra,M. P. Valdecantos,Virginia Pardo,María E. Miquilena-Colina,Javier Vargas-Castrillón,O. Lo Iacono,Marco Corazzari,Gian Maria Fimia,Mauro Piacentini,Jordi Muntané,Lisardo Boscá,Carmelo García-Monzón,Paloma Martín-Sanz,Ángela M. Valverde +15 more
TL;DR: The results demonstrated that the autophagic flux is impaired in the liver from both NAFLD patients and murine models ofNAFLD, as well as in lipid-overloaded human hepatocytes, and it could be due to elevated ER stress leading to apoptosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mecanismos de lesión hepatocelular
Jordi Muntané,Raúl González,Isidora Ranchal,Juan A. Collado,L. M. López-Sánchez,Carmen Herencia,Antonio Rodríguez-Ariza,Juan R. Muñoz-Castañeda,M. de la Mata +8 more
TL;DR: A number of authors have suggested that apoptosis and necrosis are no separate processes but the opposing ends in only one cell mechanism designated necrapoptosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Obesity dependent metabolic signatures associated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease progression
Jonathan Barr,Juan Caballería,Ibon Martínez-Arranz,Agustín Domínguez-Díez,Cristina Alonso,Jordi Muntané,Miriam Pérez-Cormenzana,Carmelo García-Monzón,Rebeca Mayo,Antonio Martín-Duce,Manuel Romero-Gómez,Lo Iacono O,Joan Tordjman,Raúl J. Andrade,Pérez-Carreras M,Le Marchand-Brustel Y,Albert Tran,Fernández-Escalante C,Arévalo E,Mayte García-Unzueta,Karine Clément,Javier Crespo,Philippe Gual,Manuel Gómez-Fleitas,María L. Martínez-Chantar,A. Castro,Shelly C. Lu,Mercedes Vazquez-Chantada,José M. Mato +28 more
TL;DR: The present data, indicating that a BMI-dependent serum metabolic profile may be able to reliably distinguish NASH from steatosis patients, have significant implications for the development of NASH biomarkers and potential novel targets for therapeutic intervention.
Journal ArticleDOI
Does fecal calprotectin predict relapse in patients with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis?
Valle García-Sánchez,Eva Iglesias-Flores,Raúl González,Javier P. Gisbert,José María Gallardo-Valverde,Ángel González-Galilea,Antonio Naranjo-Rodríguez,Juan Francisco de Dios-Vega,Jordi Muntané,Federico Gómez-Camacho +9 more
TL;DR: Fecal calprotectin may be a useful marker for predicting relapse in patients with IBD, and its predictive value is greater in UC and CD with colon involvement and inflammatory pattern, compared with ileal CD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radical surgery-peritonectomy and intraoperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy for the treatment of peritoneal carcinomatosis in recurrent or primary ovarian cancer.
S. Rufian,F.C. Muñoz-Casares,Javier Briceño,Carlos J. Díaz,María J. Rubio,Rosa Ortega,Ruben Ciria,Manuel Morillo,Enrique Aranda,Jordi Muntané,Carlos Pera +10 more
TL;DR: Patients submitted to surgical debulking and hyperthermic intraoperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy were reviewed and the potential prognostic survival factors for advanced epithelial ovarian cancer in this center were evaluated.
