TL;DR: In this article, the effect of microwave and induction heating on self-healing of asphalt mixture test samples was evaluated by measuring the mass of test samples before and after the heating process, and it was found that microwave technology is more effective than induction heating to heal cracks in asphalt roads.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, different mixtures, with different lengths, quantities and diameters of steel wool fibres have been considered, and a semi-empirical model, explaining asphalt healing through the capillary theory has been developed and fitted to the results.

TL;DR: In this paper, the self-healing results of asphalt mastic by the action of calcium-alginate capsules containing sunflower oil were evaluated and it was proven that the capsules can resist the mixing and compaction processes and break inside the asphalt due to mechanical loads, releasing the oil.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this paper, calcium-alginate capsules containing vegetable oil that can release their content due to a mechanical trigger have been made and mixed in asphalt mixture to improve its natural self-healing properties.

TL;DR: The self-healing mechanism is classified to demonstrate the design and synthesis of conductive self- healing hydrogels and their applications in tissue engineering, wound healing, electronic skin, sensors and self-repaired circuits are presented.
Abstract: Conductive hydrogels have generated great interest in biomedical and electrical fields. However, conventional conductive hydrogels usually lack self-healing properties, which might be unfavorable for their application. Conductive self-healing hydrogels with excellent performance for applications in the biomedical and electrical fields are growing in number. In this review paper, the progress related to conductive self-healing hydrogels is summarized. The self-healing mechanism is classified to demonstrate the design and synthesis of conductive self-healing hydrogels and their applications in tissue engineering, wound healing, electronic skin, sensors and self-repaired circuits are presented and discussed. The future development of conductive self-healing hydrogels and problems that need to be solved are also described.
