TL;DR: The study is extended to evaluate promising associations in a second stage in which 43,671 SNPs are genotyped in 3,650 PrCa cases and 3,940 controls and in a third stage involving an additional 16,229 cases and 14,821 controls from 21 studies.

A Randomized, Controlled Trial of ZMapp for Ebola Virus Infection.
Richard T. Davey,Lori E. Dodd,Michael A. Proschan,James D. Neaton,Neuhaus Nordwall J,Joseph S. Koopmeiners,John H. Beigel,Tierney J,H C Lane,Anthony S. Fauci,Massaquoi Mbf,Foday Sahr,Denis Malvy +12 more
TL;DR: In this randomized, controlled trial of a putative therapeutic agent for EVD, although the estimated effect of ZMapp appeared to be beneficial, the result did not meet the prespecified statistical threshold for efficacy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Randomized Trial of Reduced-Nicotine Standards for Cigarettes.
Eric C. Donny,Rachel L. Denlinger,Jennifer W. Tidey,Joseph S. Koopmeiners,Neal L. Benowitz,Ryan Vandrey,Mustafa al'Absi,Steven G. Carmella,Paul M. Cinciripini,Sarah S. Dermody,David J. Hatsukami +22 more
TL;DR: Cigarettes with lower nicotine content, as compared with control cigarettes, reduced exposure to and dependence on nicotine, as well as craving during abstinence from smoking, without significantly increasing the expired carbon monoxide level or total puff volume, suggesting minimal compensation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Safety and immunogenicity of a nicotine conjugate vaccine in current smokers.
Dorothy K. Hatsukami,Stephen I. Rennard,Douglas E. Jorenby,Mph Michael Fiore Md,Joseph S. Koopmeiners,Arjen de Vos,Gary Horwith,Paul R. Pentel +7 more
TL;DR: The nicotine vaccine appears to be a promising medication for tobacco dependence and dose‐related (P<.001), with the highest dose eliciting antibody concentrations within the anticipated range of efficacy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prostate cancer specific mortality and Gleason 7 disease differences in prostate cancer outcomes between cases with Gleason 4 + 3 and Gleason 3 + 4 tumors in a population based cohort.
Jonathan L. Wright,Jonathan L. Wright,Claudia A. Salinas,Daniel W. Lin,Daniel W. Lin,Suzanne Kolb,Joseph S. Koopmeiners,Ziding Feng,Janet L. Stanford,Janet L. Stanford +9 more
TL;DR: Gleason 7 prostate cancer shows heterogeneous behavior with Gleason 3 + 4 and 4 + 3 tumors conferring different prostate cancer specific mortality, which provides important information for counseling patients with Gle Mason 7 prostatecancer on the natural history of the disease and may inform treatment decisions.
