Electrostatics of nanowire transistors with triangular cross sections
Daryoosh Vashaee,Ali Shakouri,Joshua E. Goldberger,Tevye Kuykendall,Peter J. Pauzauskie,Peidong Yang +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the electrostatic properties of nanowire field effect transistors with triangular cross sections were investigated and the Poisson equation was solved for these structures; furthermore, the gate capacitance and current versus gate voltage were calculated, yielding the type, mobility and concentration of the carriers, as well as the Ohmic contact resistance of the wire transistor.
Journal ArticleDOI
Distinct magneto-Raman signatures of spin-flip phase transitions in CrI3
Amber McCreary,Thuc Mai,Thuc Mai,Franz Utermohlen,Jeffrey R. Simpson,Jeffrey R. Simpson,Kevin F. Garrity,Xiaozhou Feng,Dmitry Shcherbakov,Yanglin Zhu,Jin Hu,Daniel Weber,Daniel Weber,Kenji Watanabe,Takashi Taniguchi,Joshua E. Goldberger,Zhiqiang Mao,Chun Ning Lau,Yuan-Ming Lu,Nandini Trivedi,Rolando Valdes Aguilar,Angela R. Hight Walker +21 more
TL;DR: A magneto-Raman spectroscopy study on multilayered CrI3, focusing on two additional features in the spectra that appear below the magnetic ordering temperature and were previously assigned to high frequency magnons, concludes these modes are actually zone-folded phonons.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gate-tunable spin waves in antiferromagnetic atomic bilayers
TL;DR: This work investigates spin-wave dynamics in antiferromagnetic CrI 3 bilayers using an ultrafast optical pump/magneto-optical Kerr probe technique and sheds light on magnetic excitations and spin dynamics in 2D magnetic materials.
Journal ArticleDOI
EuSn2As2: an exfoliatable magnetic layered Zintl–Klemm phase
Maxx Q. Arguilla,Nicholas D. Cultrara,Zachary J. Baum,Shishi Jiang,R. D. Ross,Joshua E. Goldberger +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors synthesize EuSn2As2, the first exfoliatable, layered magnetic Zintl-Klemm phase that features van der Waals bonding between neighboring layers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of 1T, 2H, and 6R Germanane Polytypes
Nicholas D. Cultrara,Yaxian Wang,Maxx Q. Arguilla,Michael R. Scudder,Shishi Jiang,Wolfgang Windl,Svilen Bobev,Joshua E. Goldberger +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the polytype of GeH, a representative two-dimensional material that is synthesized topotactically by first controlling the poly type sequence of the precursor Zintl phase 1T, 2H, and 6R GeH can be prepared by the topotactic deintercalation of 1T EuGe2, 1H CaGe2 and 2H α-CaGe2.
