TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of mechanically and dielectrically conducting interface on the characteristics of surface wave transmission in a piezo-structure with flexoelectric effect at the nanoscale level is analyzed.
Abstract: This research article manifests the influence of mechanically and dielectrically conducting interface on the characteristics of surface wave transmission in a piezo-structure with flexoelectric effect at the nanoscale level. The considered model consists a piezoelectric (Lithium Niobate (LiNbO3)) layer resting on piezoelectric (lead zirconate titanate (PZT-5H)) half-space. The imperfect interface includes mechanically compliment and dielectrically weakly conducting interface, mechanically compliment and dielectrically highly conducting interface, mechanically debond interface and dielectrically insulating interface. Complex dispersion relations are obtained analytically in determinant form corresponding to electrically open and short circuit cases. A numerical example has been provided to highlight the influences of different affecting parameters (like layer thickness, flexoelectric parameter, degree of dielectric and mechanically imperfect interface) on the phase velocity curve. Salient outcomes of the present study have been shown graphically.

TL;DR: In this paper, the propagation of polarized shear horizontal waves in viscous liquid layer resting over a porous piezoelectric half-space was studied using the separation of variables method.
Abstract: This article aims to study the propagation of polarized shear horizontal waves in viscous liquid layer resting over a porous piezoelectric half-space. An analytical solution is proposed using the separation of variables method. The dispersion relation is obtained using the proper boundary conditions for both electrically open and short cases in determinant form. The numerical example and graphical representation are provided in support of the findings. Dynamic response of affecting parameters (e.g. layer’s width, mass density, piezoelectric constant, dielectric constant, viscous coefficient, and dielectric coupling between the two phases of the porous aggregate) has been presented through graphs. It is observed that the phase velocity of considered wave remarkably affected by these parameters. Moreover, obtained result is matched with the existing result. Findings may contribute significantly toward optimization of surface acoustic wave devices and other liquid sensors. Moreover, this study may be utilize...

TL;DR: In this article, two distinct multiferroic composites are taken into account, and an analytical technique is applied to study the shear horizontal (SH) wave propagation in a layered pre-stressed rotating cylindrical tube structure consisting of a PE layer which is wrapped on PM material having an imperfect interface.
Abstract: In the present paper, two distinct multiferroic composites are taken into account, i.e., PE (piezoelectric)/PM (piezomagnetic). An analytical technique is applied to study the shear horizontal (SH) wave propagation in a layered pre-stressed rotating cylindrical tube structure consisting of a PE material layer which is wrapped on PM material having an imperfect interface. It is assumed that consider interface is mechanical, electrically and magnetically damaged. Dispersion relations are obtained for electrical-magnetic open/short boundary conditions. Distinct graphs are drawn (numerically) to exhibit the influence of parameters like rotation, initial stress and imperfect parameters (mechanical, electrical and magnetic) on phase velocity. Parametric results on the phase velocities yield a significant conclusion of which some are: (a) Performance has Piezo-composites have a great impact on phase velocity. (b) The mechanical imperfection affects the more on phase velocity along with the combination of thickness ratio and wave number in respect to electrical -magneto imperfection (c) The PE/PM stiffening can monotonically increase the speed of phase.
