Enteral versus parenteral early nutrition in ventilated adults with shock: a randomised, controlled, multicentre, open-label, parallel-group study (NUTRIREA-2)
Jean Reignier,Julie Boisramé-Helms,L. Brisard,Jean-Baptiste Lascarrou,Ali Ait Hssain,Nadia Anguel,Laurent Argaud,Karim Asehnoune,Pierre Asfar,Frédéric Bellec,Vlad Botoc,Anne Bretagnol,Hoang-Nam Bui,Emmanuel Canet,Daniel da Silva,Michael Darmon,Vincent Das,Jérôme Devaquet,Michel Djibré,Frédérique Ganster,Maité Garrouste-Orgeas,Stéphane Gaudry,Olivier Gontier,Claude Guérin,Bertrand Guidet,Christophe Guitton,Jean-Etienne Herbrecht,Jean-Claude Lacherade,Philippe Letocart,Frédéric Martino,Virginie Maxime,Emmanuelle Mercier,Jean-Paul Mira,Saad Nseir,Gaël Piton,Jean-Pierre Quenot,Jack Richecoeur,Jean-Philippe Rigaud,René Robert,Nathalie Rolin,Carole Schwebel,Michel Sirodot,François Tinturier,Didier Thevenin,Bruno Giraudeau,Amélie Le Gouge,Amélie Le Gouge,Hervé Dupont,Marc Pierrot,François Beloncle,Danièle Combaux,Romain Mercier,Hadrien Winiszewski,Gilles Capellier,Gilles Hilbert,Didier Gruson,Pierre Kalfon,Bertrand Souweine,Elizabeth Coupez,Jean-Damien Ricard,Jonathan Messika,François Bougerol,Pierre-Louis Declercq,Auguste Dargent,Audrey Large,Djillali Annane,Bernard Clair,Agnès Bonadona,Rebecca Hamidfar,Christian Richard,Mathieu Henry-Lagarrigue,Ahiem Yehia Yehia,Johanna Temime,Stephanie Barrailler,Raphael Favory,Erika Parmentier-Decrucq,Mercé Jourdain,Loredana Baboi,Marie Simon,Thomas Baudry,Mehran Monchi,Jérôme Roustan,Patrick Bardou,Alice Cottereau,Philippe Guiot,Noelle Brule,Mickael Landais,Antoine Roquilly,Thierry Boulain,Dalila Benzekri,Benoit Champigneulle,Jalel Tahiri,Gabriel Preda,Benoit Misset,Virginie Lemiale,Lara Zafrani,Muriel Fartoukh,Guillaume Thiery,Delphine Chatellier,Rémi Coudroy,Renaud Chouquer,Christine Brasse,Arnaud Delahaye,Luís Carlos de Souza Ferreira,Régine Vermesch,Stéphanie Chevalier,Charlotte Quentin,Quentin Maestraggi,Francis Schneider,Ferhat Meziani,Charles Cerf,Grégoire Trebbia,Charlotte Salmon-Gandonnière,Laetitia Bodet-Contentin +113 more
TL;DR: In critically ill adults with shock, early isocaloric enteral nutrition did not reduce mortality or the risk of secondary infections but was associated with a greater risk of digestive complications compared with early isocallyoric parenteral nutrition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hyperoxia and hypertonic saline in patients with septic shock (HYPERS2S): a two-by-two factorial, multicentre, randomised, clinical trial.
Pierre Asfar,Frédérique Schortgen,Julie Boisramé-Helms,Julien Charpentier,Emmanuel Guerot,Bruno Mégarbane,David Grimaldi,Fabien Grelon,Nadia Anguel,Sigismond Lasocki,Matthieu Henry-Lagarrigue,Frédéric Gonzalez,François Legay,Christophe Guitton,Maleka Schenck,Jean Marc Doise,Jérôme Devaquet,Thierry Van Der Linden,Delphine Chatellier,Jean Philippe Rigaud,Jean Dellamonica,Fabienne Tamion,Ferhat Meziani,Alain Mercat,Didier Dreyfuss,Valérie Seegers,Peter Radermacher +26 more
TL;DR: In patients with septic shock, setting FiO2 to 1·0 to induce arterial hyperoxia might increase the risk of mortality, with a clinically relevant doubling in thehyperoxia group of the number of patients with intensive care unit-acquired weakness.
Journal ArticleDOI
Video Laryngoscopy vs Direct Laryngoscopy on Successful First-Pass Orotracheal Intubation Among ICU Patients: A Randomized Clinical Trial
Jean-Baptiste Lascarrou,Julie Boisramé-Helms,Arthur Bailly,Aurélie Le Thuaut,Toufik Kamel,Emmanuelle Mercier,Jean-Damien Ricard,Virginie Lemiale,Gwenhael Colin,Jean Paul Mira,Ferhat Meziani,Jonathan Messika,Pierre François Dequin,Thierry Boulain,Elie Azoulay,Benoit Champigneulle,Jean Reignier +16 more
TL;DR: Among patients in the ICU requiring intubation, video laryngoscopy compared with direct laryNGoscopy did not improve first-pass orotracheal intubiation rates and was associated with higher rates of severe life-threatening complications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hypothermia for Neuroprotection in Convulsive Status Epilepticus
Stéphane Legriel,Virginie Lemiale,Maleka Schenck,Jonathan Chelly,Virginie Laurent,Fabrice Daviaud,Mohamed Srairi,Aicha Hamdi,Guillaume Geri,Thomas Rossignol,Julia Hilly-Ginoux,Julie Boisramé-Helms,Benjamin Louart,Isabelle Malissin,Nicolas Mongardon,Benjamin Planquette,Marina Thirion,Sybille Merceron,Emmanuel Canet,Fernando Pico,Yves-Roger Tran-Dinh,Jean-Pierre Bedos,Elie Azoulay,Matthieu Resche-Rigon,Alain Cariou +24 more
TL;DR: In this trial, induced hypothermia added to standard care was not associated with significantly better 90-day outcomes than standard care alone in patients with convulsive status epilepticus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endothelial Dysfunction in Sepsis
TL;DR: Endothelial dysfunction plays a major role in the pathophysiology of septic shock and organ dysfunction, and has been suggested to be a predictor of mortality in sepsis, so early detection of endothelial dysfunction could be of great interest to adapt treatment in initial stage of sepsi.
