Genome-wide association study of 107 phenotypes in Arabidopsis thaliana inbred lines
Susanna Atwell,Yu S. Huang,Bjarni J. Vilhjálmsson,Glenda Willems,Matthew W. Horton,Yan Li,Dazhe Meng,Alexander Platt,Aaron M. Tarone,Tina T. Hu,Rong Jiang,N. Wayan Muliyati,Xu Zhang,Muhammad Ali Amer,Ivan Baxter,Benjamin Brachi,Joanne Chory,Joanne Chory,Caroline Dean,Marilyne Debieu,Juliette de Meaux,Joseph R. Ecker,Nathalie Faure,Joel M. Kniskern,Jonathan D. G. Jones,Todd P. Michael,Adnane Nemri,Fabrice Roux,Fabrice Roux,David E. Salt,Chunlao Tang,Marco Todesco,M. Brian Traw,Detlef Weigel,Paul Marjoram,Justin O. Borevitz,Joy Bergelson,Magnus Nordborg +37 more
TL;DR: This study demonstrates the feasibility of GWA studies in A. thaliana and suggests that the approach will be appropriate for many other organisms, particularly when inbred lines are available.
Journal ArticleDOI
Co-variation between seed dormancy, growth rate and flowering time changes with latitude in Arabidopsis thaliana.
Marilyne Debieu,Marilyne Debieu,Chunlao Tang,Benjamin Stich,Tobias Sikosek,Sigi Effgen,Emily B. Josephs,Johanna Schmitt,Magnus Nordborg,Maarten Koornneef,Maarten Koornneef,Juliette de Meaux,Juliette de Meaux +12 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that A. thaliana provides a good model for the evolution of trade-offs and their genetic basis, and observes that co-variation between primary dormancy, vegetative growth rate and flowering time also follows a latitudinal cline.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic basis of adaptation in Arabidopsis thaliana: local adaptation at the seed dormancy QTL DOG1.
Ilkka Kronholm,F. Xavier Picó,Carlos Alonso-Blanco,Jérôme Goudet,Juliette de Meaux,Juliette de Meaux +5 more
TL;DR: The results provide support to models postulating a large number of alleles at quantitative trait loci involved in adaptation, and characterize dormancy variation in several F2‐populations and show that a series of functionally distinct alleles segregate at the DOG1 locus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Arabidopsis thaliana Leaf Form Evolved via Loss of KNOX Expression in Leaves in Association with a Selective Sweep
Paolo Piazza,C. Donovan Bailey,Maria Cartolano,Jonathan Krieger,Jun Cao,Stephan Ossowski,Korbinian Schneeberger,Fei He,Juliette de Meaux,Neil Hall,Norman MacLeod,Dmitry A. Filatov,Angela Hay,Miltos Tsiantis +13 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that A. thaliana leaf shape likely derived from a more complex lobed ancestral state that persists in extant Arabidopsis species and that cis-regulatory divergence contributed to this process.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adaptation to different rates of environmental change in Chlamydomonas
Sinéad Collins,Juliette de Meaux +1 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that using mutations of smaller effect during adaptation may result in lower levels of pleiotropy and historical constraints, which could in turn result in higher fitness by the end of the experiment.
