Journal ArticleDOI

Systematics of complex fragment emission in niobium-induced reactions

TL;DR: In this article, complex fragments of 3 Z ⪅35 have been detected in reverse-kinematics reactions of 93 Nb plus 9 Be, 12 C and 27 Al at bombarding energies of E / A = 11.4, 14.7 and 18.0 MeV.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quasi-fission — The mass-drift mode in heavy-ion reactions

TL;DR: In this paper, the binary and ternary products from reactions of 238U beams with targets of 16O, 27Al, 48Ca, 45Sc, 48Ti, 58Fe, 64Ni and 89Y have been recorded at 6.0 MeV/u bombarding energy with four position-sensitive avalanche detectors, operated in coincidence.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fission and quasifission in U-induced reactions

TL;DR: The time scale for mass transfer in quasifission reactions is derived from turning angles of the intermediate complex, and it is found that the mass drift toward symmetry shows the characteristics of an overdamped motion with a universal time constant independent of scattering system and bombarding energy.
Journal ArticleDOI

1st observation of the coulomb-excited double giant-dipole resonance in pb-208 via double-gamma decay

TL;DR: In this article, the relativistic Coulomb excitation of the single and double giant dipole resonance (GDR) in the target has been observed in the system 1A GeV $^{209}\mathrm{Bi}$ on $^{208}-Pb.
