In this paper, we present a wireless relative humidity sensor system prototype which based on quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) coated with nanostructured ZnO as sensing element. The wireless QCM sensor system is composed of two parts: the probe based on QCM sensor and the RF receiver. The probe has two functions: to sense and display the frequency signals and to transmit the signals to the receiver. The receiver connected to the personal computer can receive and record the sensor signals. Experimental results indicate that the wireless RH sensor has quite good stability and reproducibility. The interaction distance between the probe and the receiver can be varied from 5 to 300 m. The proposed system is potential to construct the low-cost, real-time online wireless gas sensor system, which can be used to monitor the pollutants in the family and the harsh environment.

Humidity detection by nanostructured ZnO: A wireless quartz crystal microbalance investigation

Weather monitoring plays an important role in human life, so the collection of information about the temporal dynamics of weather changes is very important. In any industry during certain hazards it is very important to monitor weather. The fundamental aim of this paper is to develop an embedded system to design a weather monitoring system which enables the monitoring of weather parameters in an industry. Such a system contains pair of sensors like temperature, Gas and humidity will be monitored and LPC1768 microcontroller (ARM9). The data from the sensors are collected by the microcontroller and also microcontroller sends the sensors data in to the LABVIEW by using the Serial Communication and this module will keep the data in excel page & also we can get the SMS in the mobile with the help of GSM module. The system uses a compact circuitry built around LPC1768 (ARM9) microcontroller Programs are developed in Embedded C using the IDE Keiluvision4. JTAG is used for loading programs into Microcontroller.

Design and Implementation of Weather Monitoring and Controlling System

The enhancement of energy performance of historic buildings is not a completely resolved theme because both the tools and European directives available to the designer are mainly designed to meet the needs of the new buildings. To improve the energy efficiency of this buildings built without technical installations and designed to exploit the climatic characteristics and local resources, it is necessary to investigate the key parameters that constitute the building envelope. This study presents a multidisciplinary approach allowing to compare the optimum insulation thickness determined from the transmittance values of historical walls measured in situ with the one calculated through literature data. In detail, the methodology includes a preliminary analysis of the historical envelope needed to carry out the in situ measurements of the thermal transmittance and an analysis of insulation material and its thickness to determine the optimal combination between the energy performance of the building and the investment cost for thermal insulation and environmental impact through the life-cycle cost analysis. After applying the methodology to a case study located in Italy, the results revealed that the exclusive use of literature data for the preparation of an energy recovery project for an existing historic building can lead to significant errors.

Development and optimization of a PV/diesel hybrid supply system for remote controlled commercial large scale FM transmitters

A low cost linearizing circuit is developed, placing the NTC thermistor in a widely used inverting amplifier circuit using operational amplifier. The performance of the system is verified experimentally. A linearity of approximately ± 1% is achieved over 30 °C -120 °C. When used for a narrower span, a much better linearity of ± 0.5% is obtained. The gain of the arrangement can be adjusted over a wide range by simply varying the feedback resistance. The simplicity of the configuration promises a greater reliability, and also curtails the deterioration in the stability of performance, by reducing the cumulation of drifts in the different circuit components and devices.

Linearization of NTC Thermistor Characteristic Using Op-Amp Based Inverting Amplifier

Sensing and recording of relative humidity and temperature plays an important role in many industries. In the past analogue devices were used for measurement of relative humidity and temperature. A simple technique combining analogue and digital circuit theory together with programming techniques has been used in this paper to design a remote temperature and relative humidity sensing system. The sensors analogue signal is applied to a micro-controller based data logger for storage purposes. The data is then transferred to the computer through standard RS232 serial port using the user interface program. The program also allows the user to input some of the important parameters such as sampling interval as well as starting date and time for the logging operation. A back-up power supply is also included to enable the system to remain functional in the event of a power failure. The proposed system has added advantages compared with existing systems, namely, in its low cost and high memory capabilities and the ability to perform in both real-time as well as off-line.
