TL;DR: In this article, the behavior of oscillators with multiple-resonant circuits is discussed, and the condition for free-running stable oscillations, injection locking phenomena, the stable locking range, and a condition for parasitic oscillations are discussed.
Abstract: This paper discusses the behavior of oscillators with multiple-resonant circuits. It discusses the condition for free-running stable oscillations, the injection locking phenomena, the stable locking range, the noise of free-running and injection-locked oscillators, and a condition for parasitic oscillations in detail, and presents a graphical interpretation of this study for clarity. Finally, this paper shows how broadbanding of oscillators can be achieved with a double-resonant circuit. This provides a systematic guide for the design of broadband frequency deviators and broadband injection-locked oscillators for numerous applications.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors provide an overview of the recent advances in the modelling, design and technological implementation of SIW structures and components, as well as their application in the development of circuits and components operating in the microwave and millimetre wave region.
Abstract: Substrate-integrated waveguide (SIW) technology represents an emerging and very promising candidate for the development of circuits and components operating in the microwave and millimetre-wave region. SIW structures are generally fabricated by using two rows of conducting cylinders or slots embedded in a dielectric substrate that connects two parallel metal plates, and permit the implementation of classical rectangular waveguide components in planar form, along with printed circuitry, active devices and antennas. This study aims to provide an overview of the recent advances in the modelling, design and technological implementation of SIW structures and components.

TL;DR: Injection locking of microwave solid-state oscillators is discussed in this article, based on the familiar theorem that the total impedance times the current is equal to the applied voltage, based on which the locking range, large-signal injection, locking stability, and AM and FM noise are analyzed.
Abstract: Injection locking of microwave solid-state oscillators is discussed, based on the familiar theorem that the total impedance times the current is equal to the applied voltage. Both quasi-static and dynamic analyses of the locking range, large-signal injection, locking stability, and AM and FM noise are given, and recent experimental work is reviewed briefly. No applications of injection locking are discussed in detail.

TL;DR: Active integrated antenna (AIA) technologies have been extensively studied in the past decade or so as discussed by the authors, with a brief introduction on the definition and some historical remarks on the research effort on the past decades or so.
Abstract: This paper provide a review of the active integrated antenna (AIA) technologies. After a brief introduction on the definition and some historical remarks, the paper concentrates on the research effort on the past decades or so. The AlAs are reviewed in its various functions. First, an oscillator-type AIA is presented, followed by very interesting aspects of coupled oscillator arrays for phase control. Use of an AIA concept for efficient RF front ends is described with examples on high-power amplifier AlAs. Next, a phase-conjugation-based retrodirective array is reviewed. Finally, AIA systems for receiving, transmitting, and duplexing are reviewed.

TL;DR: A survey of modern nonlinear CAD techniques as applied to the specific field of microwave circuits shows that the various subjects are not just separate items, but rather can be chained in a strictly logical sequence.
Abstract: The authors present a survey of modern nonlinear CAD (computer-aided design) techniques as applied to the specific field of microwave circuits. A number of fundamental aspects of the nonlinear CAD problem, including simulation, optimization, intermodulation, frequency conversion, stability, and noise, are addressed and developed. For each one it is shown that either well-established CAD solutions are available, or at least a solution approach suitable for implementation in a general-purpose CAD environment can be outlined. Also, the discussion shows that the various subjects are not just separate items, but rather can be chained in a strictly logical sequence. Finally, an elementary treatment of vector processing is given, to show that supercomputers can handle the involved large-size numerical problems efficiently. >
