Abstract: With the increasing growth of technology and the entrance into the digital age, we have to handle a vast amount of information every time which often presents difficulties. So, the digital information must be stored and retrieved in an efficient and effective manner, in order for it to be put to practical use. Wavelets provide a mathematical way of encoding information in such a way that it is layered according to level of detail. This layering facilitates approximations at various intermediate stages. These approximations can be stored using a lot less space than the original data. Here a low complex 2D image compression method using wavelets as the basis functions and the approach to measure the quality of the compressed image are presented. The particular wavelet chosen and used here is the simplest wavelet form namely the Haar Wavelet. The 2D discrete wavelet transform (DWT) has been applied and the detail matrices from the information matrix of the image have been estimated. The reconstructed image is synthesized using the estimated detail matrices and information matrix provided by the Wavelet transform. The quality of the compressed images has been evaluated using some factors like Compression Ratio (CR), Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR), Mean Opinion Score (MOS), Picture Quality Scale (PQS) etc.

Abstract: Potato is one of the prominent food crops all over the world. In Bangladesh, potato cultivation has been getting remarkable popularity over the last decades. Many diseases affect the proper growth of potato plants. Noticeable diseases are seen in the leaf region of this plant. Two common and popular leaf diseases of the potato plants are Early Blight (EB) and Late Blight (LB). However, if these diseases were identified at an early stage it would be very helpful for better production of this crop. To solve this problem by detecting and analyzing these diseases image processing is the best option. This paper proposes an image processing and machine learning-based automatic system that will identify and classify potato leaf diseases. In this paper, image segmentation is done over 450 images of healthy and diseased potato leaf, which is taken from publicly available plant village database and seven classifier algorithms are used for recognition and classification of diseased and healthy leaves. Among them, The Random Forest classifier gives an accuracy of 97%. In this manner, our proposed approach leads to a path of automatic plant leaf disease detection.

Abstract: BACKGROUND: Despite a well-functioning adult tuberculosis (TB) control programme children with TB remain grossly under-detected in Bangladesh. It is conservatively estimated that annually around 21000 children with TB go undetected due to an almost exclusive focus on sputum smear-positive TB and the absence of training or guidelines in paediatric TB. OBJECTIVE: To double child TB detection by increasing general awareness and training of health care workers at microscopy centres supported by the Damien Foundation (DF) Bangladesh. METHODS: A cluster-randomised trial was carried out with provision of child TB guidelines training and logistics support to staff of 18 microscopy centres while 18 non-adjacent microscopy centres continued their usual practice and served as controls. Paediatric data on TB suspect referral and case detection were collected at baseline and during the intervention at both control and intervention sites. RESULTS: Child TB case detection increased in both intervention and control microscopy centres but the increase was three times the baseline in the intervention centres (from 3.8% to 12%) in comparison to less than double the baseline in the control centres (from 4.3% to 7% P = 0.001). CONCLUSION: Simple guidelines and training on child TB case detection together with basic logistics support can be integrated into the existing National TB Control Programme and improve service delivery to children in TB-endemic areas.

Abstract: It is common for organizations to maintain multiple variants of a given business process, such as multiple sales processes for different products or multiple bookkeeping processes for different countries. Conventional business process modeling languages do not explicitly support the representation of such families of process variants. This gap triggered significant research efforts over the past decade, leading to an array of approaches to business process variability modeling. In general, each of these approaches extends a conventional process modeling language with constructs to capture customizable process models. A customizable process model represents a family of process variants in a way that a model of each variant can be derived by adding or deleting fragments according to customization options or according to a domain model. This survey draws up a systematic inventory of approaches to customizable process modeling and provides a comparative evaluation with the aim of identifying common and differentiating modeling features, providing criteria for selecting among multiple approaches, and identifying gaps in the state of the art. The survey puts into evidence an abundance of customizable process-modeling languages, which contrasts with a relative scarcity of available tool support and empirical comparative evaluations.

Abstract: Introduction: Nutritional rickets has been described from at least 59 countries in the last 20 years. Its spectrum of causes differs in different regions of the world. Methods: We conducted a systematic review of articles on nutritional rickets from various geographical regions published in the last 20 years. We extracted information about the prevalence and causes of rickets. Results: Calcium deficiency is the major cause of rickets in Africa and some parts of tropical Asia, but is being recognised increasingly in other parts of the world. A resurgence of vitamin D deficiency has been observed in North America and Europe. Vitamin D-deficiency rickets usually presents in the 1st 18 months of life, whereas calcium deficiency typically presents after weaning and often after the 2nd year. Few studies of rickets in developing countries report values of 25(OH)D to permit distinguishing vitamin D from calcium deficiency. Abstract: The manufacturing of intelligent and secure visual data transmission over the wireless sensor network is key requirement nowadays to many applications. The two-way transmission of image under a wireless channel needed image must compatible along channel characteristics such as band width, energy-efficient, time consumption and security because the image adopts big space under the device of storage and need a long time that easily undergoes cipher attacks. Moreover, Quizzical the problem for the additional time under compression results that, the secondary process of the compression followed through the acquisition consumes more time.,Hence, for resolving these issues, compressive sensing (CS) has emerged, which compressed the image at the time of sensing emerges as a speedy manner that reduces the time consumption and saves bandwidth utilization but fails under secured transmission. Abstract: Based on the previous literature review, this paper builds a short-term traffic speed forecasting model using Support Vector Machine (SVM) regression theory (referred as SVM model in this paper). Besides the advantages of the SVM model, it also has some limitations. Perhaps the biggest one lies in choice of the appropriate kernel function for the practical problem; how to optimize the parameters efficiently and effectively presents another one. Unfortunately, these limitations are still research topics in current literature. This paper puts an effort to investigate these limitations. In order to find the effective way to choose the appropriate and suitable kernel function, this paper constructs a new kernel function using a wavelet function to capture the non-stationary characteristics of the short-term traffic speed data. In order to find the efficient way to identify the model structure parameters, this paper uses the Phase Space Reconstruction theory to identify the input space dimension. To take the advantage of these components, the paper proposes a short-term traffic speed forecasting hybrid model (Chaos–Wavelet Analysis-Support Vector Machine model, referred to as C-WSVM model in this paper). The real traffic speed data is applied to evaluate the performance and practicality of the model and the results are encouraging. The theoretical advantage and better performance from the study indicate that the C-WSVM model has good potential to be developed and is feasible for short-term traffic speed forecasting study.
