Journal ArticleDOI

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-like protein from orf virus NZ2 binds to VEGFR2 and neuropilin-1.

TL;DR: Results indicate that, from a functional viewpoint, ORFV2-VEGF is indeed a member of the VEGF family of molecules, but is unique, however, in that it utilizes only VEGFR-2 and neuropilin-1.
Journal ArticleDOI

Peripheral Blood Platelets Express VEGF-C and VEGF which Are Released during Platelet Activation

TL;DR: VEGF-C and VEGF, released from activated platelets, may have a role in angiogenesis during wound healing, and possibly also in other pathological conditions, such as atherosclerosis, tumour growth, and metastasis formation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ligand-induced Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor-3 (VEGFR-3) Heterodimerization with VEGFR-2 in Primary Lymphatic Endothelial Cells Regulates Tyrosine Phosphorylation Sites

TL;DR: The data suggest that the carboxyl-terminal tail of VEGFR-3 provides important regulatory tyrosine phosphorylation sites with potential signal transduction capacity and that these sites are differentially used in ligand-induced homo- and heterodimeric receptor complexes.
