Failure analysis and assessment on the exemplary water supply network

TL;DR: In this paper, a failure analysis of water supply failure frequency in one of the cities in Poland is presented, where the average failure rate for the main pipelines is λ Mavg ǫ = 0.98, the distribution pipelines λ Ravg = 0.42, and the water connections λ Pavg à 0.35, the majority of failures (45.62%) happen in the distribution pipeline, representing about 53% of the total length of the pipelines.

Utilization of diffusion processes and fuzzy logic for vulnerability assessment

TL;DR: The aim of the paper is to describe a possible way of attacking on the object in order to get into a particular part of it, and several characteristics of an adversary attempt were obtained.
Journal ArticleDOI

Approaches to Failure Risk Analysis of the Water Distribution Network with Regard to the Safety of Consumers

TL;DR: This paper has sought mainly to present new approaches to failure risk assessment where the functioning of a water distribution network (WDN) is concerned, and proposes a modified Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis with implementation of an Analytical Hierarchy Process.
Journal ArticleDOI

An Approach to Determine Risk Indices for Drinking Water–Study Investigation

TL;DR: In this paper, a conception method is presented by which to assess indices of risk vis-a-vis drinking water, on the basis of a probability estimation methodology, and the categorisation of water pipes in line with quality-reliability as regards the physical and chemical composition of drinking water or water intended for business purposes is proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Qualitative analysis of the failure risk of water pipes in terms of water supply safety

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of emergency states on water-supply pipelines have been analysed, where a model hydraulic pipe network was created in Epanet 2, on the basis of actual operational data using the model, pipeline failures were simulated and their effects described.
