Journal ArticleDOI
The RNA moiety of ribonuclease P is the catalytic subunit of the enzyme
TL;DR: The RNA moieties of ribonuclease P purified from both E. coli and B. subtilis can cleave tRNA precursor molecules in buffers containing either 60 mM Mg2+ or 10 mM MG2+ plus 1 mM spermidine, and in vitro, the RNA and protein subunits from one species can complement sub units from the other species in reconstitution experiments.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported the sequence and gene catalogue of the long arm of chromosome 21 and sequenced 33,546,361 base pairs (bp) of DNA with very high accuracy, the largest contig being 25,491,867 bp.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mutant U5A cells are complemented by an interferon-alpha beta receptor subunit generated by alternative processing of a new member of a cytokine receptor gene cluster.
Georges Lutfalla,S J Holland,E Cinato,Danièle Monneron,Jérôme Reboul,Neil C. Rogers,J M Smith,G R Stark,Katheleen Gardiner,Knud Erik Mogensen +9 more
TL;DR: Together IFNAR2, CRFB4,IFNAR1 and AF1 form a cluster of class II cytokine receptor genes on human chromosome 21, establishing that together IFNARE2,CRFB4 and IFnAR2 form a clusters of class I cytokine receptors on human chromosomes 21.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fractionation of large mammalian DNA restriction fragments using vertical pulsed-field gradient gel electrophoresis
TL;DR: A new design for pulsed field gradient gel electrophoresis of large (>50 kb) DNA fragments is described and has allowed examination of the minimum separation of two DNA markers known to be on the same human chromosome, chromosome 21.
Journal ArticleDOI
Down syndrome and Alzheimer's disease: Common pathways, common goals.

TL;DR: A workshop of AD and DS experts to discuss similarities and differences, challenges, and future directions for this field articulated a set of research priorities: target identification and drug development, clinical and pathological staging, cognitive assessment and clinical trials, and partnerships and collaborations with the ultimate goal to deliver effective disease‐modifying treatments.
