Daniel J. Klionsky, +2522 more
- 21 Jan 2016 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a set of guidelines for the selection and interpretation of methods for use by investigators who aim to examine macro-autophagy and related processes, as well as for reviewers who need to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of papers that are focused on these processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of the antioxidant composition of strawberry tree (Arbutus unedo L.) fruits

TL;DR: In this article, the authors identified and quantified the antioxidant components present in strawberry tree fruits, including flavonoids, vitamins C and E and carotenoids, and found that the fruits are a very good source of antioxidants precisely because they have a high flavonoid content.
Journal ArticleDOI

Autophagy, polyphenols and healthy ageing

TL;DR: The literature on autophagy regulation by (dietary) polyphenols such as resveratrol, catechin, quercetin, silibinin and curcumin is discussed with a focus on the underlying molecular mechanisms.
Journal ArticleDOI

Neuroprotective Properties of Curcumin in Alzheimer’s Disease – Merits and Limitations

TL;DR: The neuroprotective potential of curcumin, with emphasis on Alzheimer's disease, as well as its limitations will be discussed in detail.
