Journal ArticleDOI

Irradiation-free, columnar defects comprised of self-assembled nanodots and nanorods resulting in strongly enhanced flux-pinning in YBa2Cu3O7−δ films

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple and practically scalable technique was used to produce long, nearly continuous vortex pins along the c-axis in YBa2Cu3O7?? (YBCO), in the form of self-assembled stacks of BaZrO3 (BZO) nanodots and nanorods.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microstructural stability and mechanical behavior of FeNiMnCr high entropy alloy under ion irradiation

TL;DR: In this paper, a single phase (face centered cubic) concentrated solid solution alloy of composition 27%Fe-28%Ni-27%Mn-18%Cr was irradiated with 3 or 5.8 MeV Ni ions at temperatures ranging from room temperature to 700 Ã 0.03 to 10 displacements per atom (dpa).
Journal ArticleDOI

Reverse micellar synthesis of cerium oxide nanoparticles

TL;DR: In this paper, reverse micellar synthesis of cerium oxide, CeO2, and 1-butanol co-surfactant was used to obtain 3.7 nm nanoparticles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stability of SiC-matrix microencapsulated fuel constituents at relevant LWR conditions

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors addressed the feasibility issues facing the application of SiC-matrix microenculated fuels for light water reactor application and found that the SiC matrix was quite stable with behavior similar to that of CVD SiC.
