Journal ArticleDOI
A metalloproteinase disintegrin that releases tumour-necrosis factor-α from cells
Roy A. Black,Charles Rauch,Carl J. Kozlosky,Jacques J. Peschon,Jennifer L. Slack,Martin F. Wolfson,Beverly J. Castner,Kim L. Stocking,Pranitha Reddy,Subhashini Srinivasan,Nicole Nelson,Norman Boiani,Kenneth A. Schooley,Mary Gerhart,Raymond Davis,Jeffrey N. Fitzner,Richard S. Johnson,Raymond J. Paxton,Carl J. March,Douglas P. Cerretti +19 more
TL;DR: The results should facilitate the development of therapeutically useful inhibitors of TNF-α release, and they indicate that an important function of adamalysins may be to shed cell-surface proteins.
Journal ArticleDOI
Trail-r2: a novel apoptosis-mediating receptor for trail
Henning Walczak,Mariapia A. Degli-Esposti,Richard S. Johnson,Pam J. Smolak,Jennifer Y. Waugh,Norman Boiani,Martin Timour,Mary Gerhart,Kenneth A. Schooley,Craig A. Smith,Raymond G. Goodwin,Charles Rauch +11 more
TL;DR: The identification of a distinct receptor for TRAIL, TRAIL‐R2, by ligand‐based affinity purification and subsequent molecular cloning suggests an unexpected complexity to TRAIL biology, reminiscent of dual receptors for TNF, the canonical member of this family.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of PDI overexpression on recombinant protein secretion in CHO cells.
TL;DR: Rec recombinant human PDI (rhu PDI) was expressed in CHO cells to increase cellular PDI levels and its effect on the secretion of two different recombinant proteins: interleukin 15 (IL‐15) and a tumor necrosis factor receptor:Fc fusion protein (TNFR:fc).
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of a distinct low-affinity receptor for human interleukin-4 on pre-B cells
William C. Fanslow,Melanie K. Spriggs,Charles Rauch,Ky N. Clifford,Brian M. Macduff,Steven F. Ziegler,Kenneth A. Schooley,Kendall M. Mohler,Carl J. March,Richard J. Armitage +9 more
TL;DR: Evidence is provided for a novel cell-surface expressed low-affinity IL-4R that also exists as a biologically active soluble IL-2 binding protein and blocking MoAb against the previously characterized high-affination receptor inhibitedIL-4-mediated proliferation of hIL- 4R+ CTLL cells.
Fas Ligand Mediates Activation-induced Cell Death in Human T Lymphocytes By Mark g. Alderson, Teresa W. Tough, Terri Davis-Smith,
Steve Braddy,Ben A. Falk,Kenneth A. Schooley,Raymond G. Goodwin,Craig A. Smith,Fred Ramsdell,David H. Lynch +6 more
TL;DR: The data indicate AICD in previously stimulated T cells is mediated by Fas/Fas-L interactions, and Fas-L antagonists inhibition of T cell clones and staphylococcus enterotoxin B (SEB)-specific T cell lines is indicated.
