Evaluating the strategies for sustainable energy planning in Pakistan: An integrated SWOT-AHP and Fuzzy-TOPSIS approach

We study a criteria evaluation system for outsourcing reverse logistics (ORL).A hybrid SWOT and intuitionistic fuzzy AHP model evaluates strategic factors in ORL.Triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers are used to model ambiguity and uncertainty.The proposed model is validated through a case study.Focusing on core business is shown to be the organization's strategic priority. We consider the problem faced by a company that must outsource reverse logistics (RL) activities to third-party providers. Addressing RL outsourcing problems has become increasingly relevant issue in the management science and decision making literatures. The correct evaluation and ranking of the decision criteria/priorities determining the selection of the best third-party RL providers (3PRLPs) is essential for the competitive performance of the outsourcing company. The method proposed in this study allows to identify and classify these decision criteria. First, the relevant criteria and sub-criteria are identified using a SWOT analysis. Then, Intuitionistic Fuzzy AHP is used to evaluate the relative importance weights among the criteria and the corresponding sub-criteria. These relative weights are implemented in a novel extension of Mikhailov's fuzzy preference programming method to produce local weights for all criteria and sub-criteria. Finally, these local weights are used to assign a global weight to each sub-criterion and create a ranking. We discuss the results obtained by applying the proposed model to a case study of a real company. In particular, these results show that the most important priority for the company when delegating RL activities to 3PRLPs is to focus on the core business, while reducing costs constitutes one of its least important priorities.

An integrated intuitionistic fuzzy AHP and SWOT method for outsourcing reverse logistics

The emergence of Industry 4.0, also referred to as the fourth industrial revolution, has entirely transformed how the industry or business functions and evolves. It can be attributed to its broadening focus on automation, decentralization, system integration, cyber-physical systems, etc. Its implementation promises numerous benefits in terms of higher productivity, greater volatility, better control and streamlining of processes, accelerated enterprise growth, sustainable development, etc. Despite the worldwide recognition and realization of Industry 4.0, its holistic adoption is constrained by the requirements of specific skills among the workforce. The personnel are expected to acquire adaptive thinking, cognitive and computational skills, predominantly in the area of information technology, data analytics, etc. Thus, the universities that laid the foundation for future talents or trends in society have to adapt and modernize the existing programs, facilities, and infrastructure. This reshaping of higher education in consonance with the vision of Industry 4.0 possesses its opportunities and challenges. There are, of course, a multitude of factors involved and they need a reasonable assessment to strategically plan this metamorphosis. Therefore, this work aims to explore and analyze the different factors that influence the progression and enactment of Industry 4.0 in universities for sustainable education. For this purpose, a systematic approach based on a questionnaire as well as a SWOT (strengths (S), weaknesses (W), opportunities (O), and threats (T)) integrated with the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is adopted. The questionnaires are administered to university employees and students (or stakeholders) to assess their viewpoint, as well as to estimate the priority values for individual factors to be included in SWOT. The AHP is implemented to quantify the different factors in terms of weights using a pairwise comparison matrix. Finally, the SWOT matrix is established depending on the questionnaire assessment and the AHP weights to figure out stakeholders’ perspectives, in addition to the needed strategic scheme. The SWOT implementation of this research proposes an aggressive approach for universities, where they must make full use of their strengths to take advantage of the emerging opportunities in Industry 4.0. The results also indicate that there are fundamental requirements for universities in Industry 4.0, including effective financial planning, skilled staff, increased industrial partnerships, advanced infrastructure, revised curricula, and insightful workshops. This investigation undoubtedly underlines the importance of practical expertise and the implementation of digital technologies at the university level to empower novices with the requisite skills and a competitive advantage for Industry 4.0.

Sinizm ise, bireylerin yalniz kendi cikarlarini gozettigine, cikarlarini her seyin uzerinde tuttuguna inanan ve buna gore herkesi cikarci kabul eden kisinin dusuncelerini aciklamaya calisan bir kavramdir. Bu calismanin amaci, lojistik sektorunde calisan kisilerin adalet algisi ile orgutsel sinizm arasindaki iliskinin incelenmesidir. Calismada oncelikle adalet algisi boyutlari ve sinizm boyutlari incelenmistir. Bununla birlikte calisma Istanbul’da bulunan 47 lojistik isletmesini kapsamaktadir. Bu kapsamda soz konusu isletmelerde calisan kisilerin adalet algisini ve sinizmi olculmustur. Elde edilen bulgular, calisan adalet algisinin alt boyutlari ile sinizmin alt boyutlari arasinda negatif yonlu anlamli bir iliski oldugunu gostermistir.

The Relationship between Knowledge Sharing and Innovative Work Behaviour:the Mediating Role of Ethical Climate

Purpose – IATF 16949 Automotive Quality Management System-QMS (known as ISO/TS 16949 standard) is a worldwide standard developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF), a group of the world’s leading manufacturers and trade organizations. It defines the quality management system (QMS) requirements for the design, development, production, and when relevant, installation and service of automotive-related products. The purpose of this study is to examine the relation between the Automotive QMS practices and the firm performance (financial and process performance). Desing/methodology/approach – A research model and hypotheses were tested by using survey data collected from suppliers of a main manufacturing firm in the automotive industry. Findings – A significant and positive relationship was found between the automotive QMS applications and the process performance of the enterprises. However, a significant and positive relationship was not found between Automotive QMS applications and financial performance. Discussion – The high level of application of the Automotive Quality Management System of the enterprises affects the process performance positively. The fulfillment of the requirements of the system plays an important role in the proper and efficient execution of the processes. In general, it is known that quality applications are primarily beneficial in improving processes, and that the financial performance benefit occurs in the following years. It can be stated that 53% of the surveyed enterprises have this system for less than one year and the results are meaningful.
