Abstract: This study aims to develop the plastic suspension assembly which is installed on inside of vehicle seat and supports passenger`s back to provide the comfortable feeling. This design is the suspension structure to support the back equally and assemble seat back frame and plastic suspension effectively. The parts of suspension are designed by considering the property of body pressure distribution. As analysis values are approached to measured values by comparing the deformations in the cases of existed spring suspension and developed plastic suspension, the optimum design can be established.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the mechanism involved in the friction noise in the lead screw system and found that it was caused by the mode coupling between the torsion and axial modes.
Abstract: This study experimentally investigated the friction noise in the lead screw system. The mechanism involved in the friction noise was analyzed on basis of the mode-coupling characteristics. Therefore, the frequency separation between two modes near the squeak frequency was traced with the location of nut. It was found that the friction noise of the lead screw was generated only at the nut location where the frequencies of the axial and torsion modes were met. It indicated that the friction noise in the lead screw system was caused by the mode coupling between the torsion and axial modes.

TL;DR: In this paper, the research about structural safety with light weight seat frame which has considerable weight among the interior parts of vehicles and the design analysis for cost reduction are carried out, and the maximum displacement is measured for the rear seat frame made of SPEC 980 hightension steel plate (HTSP) by using the durability tester.
Abstract: In this study, the research about structural safety with light weight seat frame which has considerable weight among the interior parts of vehicles and the design analysis for cost reduction are carried out. Maximum displacement is measured for the rear seat frame made of SPEC 980 hightension steel plate (HTSP) by using the durability tester. To evaluate the safety of seat frame, simulation analysis is carried under the same condition as the experiment by applying the material of SPFC 980 and the result is compared with the displacement obtained from the experiment. As experimental and analysis results on the material of SPFC 980 approach closely each other, all analysis data in this study can be verified. These analysis results can be applied into real field effectively. The displacements of rear seat frames applied with SPFC 790 as well as SPFC 590 are investigated by simulation analysis in order to look for the adequate design on structural safety and cost reduction of rear seat frame.

TL;DR: In this article, a theoretical model for the ball joint squeak problem is proposed, where a ball joint is modeled as a sphere attached to a rotating flexible beam and it is in contact with a semi-spherical rigid socket, and the relative rotation and vibration between the ball and socket produces friction stresses causing the dynamic instability of the system.
