TL;DR: A garnish light alloy wheel as discussed by the authors is a wheel that includes an outboard surface and a recess located at a portion of the light-alloy wheel including a spoke portion.
Abstract: A garnish light alloy wheel includes a light alloy wheel and a garnish. The light alloy wheel includes an outboard surface and a recess located at a portion of the light alloy wheel including a spoke portion. The recess recedes from the outboard surface of the light alloy wheel. The garnish is manufactured separately from the light alloy wheel and is exchangeably mounted to the light alloy wheel at the recess. The light alloy wheel and the garnish construct a design surface of the garnish light alloy wheel, and the garnish has an outboard surface constructing a portion of the design surface of the garnish light alloy wheel.

TL;DR: In this article, a method for manufacturing a wheel rim for a vehicle comprises an ironing step for ironing a tubular material (4), the portion excluding the flange section (9), to ironing by moving the punch (26) relative to the die (22).
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a wheel rim for a vehicle comprises an ironing step for ironing a tubular material (4) to manufacture a tubular member (10A) having a non-uniform thickness, the manufacture of the tubular member (10A) being performed using an ironing device (20) provided with: a punch (26); a die (22) having a side surface which faces the punch (26) and is formed as an irregular surface; and a pressing member (23). In the ironing step, a flange section (9) of the tubular material is engaged with the die (22), the pressing member (23) is moved relative to the die (22) to sandwich the flange section (9) of the tubular material under pressure between the pressing member (23) and the die (22), and then the tubular member (10A) having a non-uniform thickness is manufactured by subjecting at least a portion of the tubular material (4), the portion excluding the flange section (9) of the tubular material (4), to ironing by moving the punch (26) relative to the die (22).

TL;DR: In this article, a wheel having improved welding part strength in a semi-full design steel wheel capable of assuring a strength of a welding part between a rim and a disk flange part irrespective of arranging a water drain part is presented.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel having improved welding part strength in a semi-full design steel wheel capable of assuring a strength of a welding part between a rim and a disk flange part irrespective of arranging a water drain part. SOLUTION: A wheel 10 having an improved strength at its welding part is a semi-full design steel wheel. An axial end part 17 of a disk flange part 14 is formed to be continuous in a circumferential direction and at the same time a water drain hole 16 is formed at a part axially spaced apart from the axial end part 17 of the disk flange part 14. Both a disk 11 and a rim 12 are connected at the axial end part 17 of the disk flange part 14 by a full circumferential welding 21 having no starting or terminal end. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI

TL;DR: In this paper, a cavity portion 18 circumferentially communicated is formed on a cross section portion formed by a bead sheet portion 12 at a design surface side of a one piece aluminum wheel and a side wall portion 13 at a surface side.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply an aluminum wheel to a one piece aluminum wheel having any design. SOLUTION: In a light-weighted aluminum wheel, a cavity portion 18 circumferentially communicated is formed on a cross section portion formed by a bead sheet portion 12 at a design surface side of a one piece aluminum wheel and a side wall portion 13 at a design surface side. The formation of the cavity portion 18 is carried out by combustion a casting hole as cast at a casting step with spinning, press processing and the like. COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO

TL;DR: In this article, a pre-treatment method for chemical conversion coating is proposed, which does not limit a coating method, places a less burden on the environment and can apply good chemical conversion treatment to all metals such as iron, zinc, aluminum and so on.
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a pretreatment method for coating, which does not limit a coating method, places a less burden on the environment and can apply good chemical conversion treatment to all metals such as iron, zinc, aluminum and so on. A pretreatment method for coating comprising treating a substance to be treated by a chemical conversion coating agent to form a chemical conversion coat, wherein the chemical conversion coating agent comprises: at least one kind selected from the group consisting of zirconium, titanium and hafnium; fluorine; and at least one kind selected from the group consisting of amino group-containing silane coupling agents, hydrolysates thereof and polymers thereof.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for producing a vehicle wheel comprises the steps of providing a wheel including an outboard face, a wheel cover including an inner surface, and an external surface feature on at least one of the outboard faces of the wheel and the inner surface of the cover.
Abstract: A method for producing a vehicle wheel comprises the steps of: (a) providing a wheel including an outboard face; (b) providing a wheel cover including an inner surface; (c) providing an external surface feature on at least one of the outboard face of the wheel and the inner surface of the cover; (d) positioning the wheel and the cover relative to one another to form a first gap between at least selected portions of the wheel outboard face of the cover inner surface and to form at least a second gap in the area of the external surface feature between adjacent surfaces of the wheel and the wheel cover, the first gap to the second gap defining an indirect flow path; and (e) securing the cover to the wheel by using an expandable foam adhesive material, wherein the adhesive material initially fills selected portions of the first gap and then follows the indirect flow path to then flow into the second gap whereby the adhesive material cures and stops expanding before completely filling the second gap.

TL;DR: In this paper, the wheel body is constructed from a rim section (10) and a disc section (11) and having decorative holes (141) in the disc section and also has the resin decorative members (2) held by at least the disc and exposed over the decorative holes.
Abstract: A wheel for vehicle, where decorative members can be installed without a reduction in the thickness of a wheel body, and thereby the wheel has a high degree of design freedom with sufficient strength of the wheel maintained. The wheel has the wheel body (1) constructed from a rim section (10) and a disc section (11) and having decorative holes (141) in the disc section (11) and also has the resin decorative members (2) held by at least the disc section (11) and exposed over the decorative holes (141). Since the decorative members (2) are exposed over the decorative holes (141), the wheel body (1) including spoke sections (14) does not need reduction in the thickness. Also, the design of the decorative members (2) appears in cooperation with the design of the disc section (11), so that the wheel has a high degree of design freedom.

TL;DR: A vehicle wheel includes a rim, a hub portion, a plurality of spokes, a boss portion, and a number of decorative attachments as mentioned in this paper, each of which is attached to the wheel.
Abstract: A vehicle wheel includes a rim portion, a hub portion, a plurality of spokes and a plurality of decorative attachments. Each pair of adjacent spokes defines a window therebetween. The plurality of decorative attachments are secured to the wheel and each define a plurality of rearwardly extending boss portions. Each boss portion abuts the wheel. In certain applications, the boss portions may be received within a respective countersunk hole in the wheel and engaged by a fastener for securing the decorative attachment to the wheel. A free end of each of the boss portions abuts a bottom of its respective countersunk hole and the decorative attachment is otherwise spaced from the wheel to reduce noise issues. Alternatively, the ends of the boss portion may be spaced from the wheel and drawn toward the wheel with the threaded fasteners.
