Dependence of indium–tin–oxide work function on surface cleaning method as studied by ultraviolet and x-ray photoemission spectroscopies

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of the method used to clean indium-tin-oxide (ITO) on its work function was investigated by ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopy (UPS) and x-ray photo-emission spectrum analysis (X-ray PSA) and it was shown that C-containing contaminants, O/In ratio, and In/Sn ratio on the ITO surface affect the work function.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electronic structures of organic molecular materials for organic electroluminescent devices studied by ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopy

TL;DR: In this article, the electronic structures of evaporated films of five organic light-emitting and carrier-injecting materials for organic electroluminescent devices were studied by ultraviolet photo-emission spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Energy-level alignment at model interfaces of organic electroluminescent devices studied by UV photoemission: trend in the deviation from the traditional way of estimating the interfacial electronic structures

TL;DR: In this article, the electronic structures of model interfaces of organic electroluminescent (EL) devices were investigated with UV photo-emission spectroscopy (UPS), and the authors found that the work function of metal electrode was changed by deposition of organic layer, indicating the invalidity of the traditional energy level alignment model where a common vacuum level was assumed at organic/metal interface.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electronic structure of 8-hydroxyquinoline aluminum (alq3)/metal interfaces studied by UV photoemission

TL;DR: The electronic structures of tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq 3 ) / metal (Au, Al) interfaces as a model interface of organic electroluminescent (EL) devices were investigated by ultraviolet photo-emission spectroscopy (UPS) as discussed by the authors.
