Molecular Design of Coumarin Dyes for Efficient Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells
Kohjiro Hara,Tadatake Sato,Ryuzi Katoh,Akihiro Furube,Yasuyo Ohga,Akira Shinpo,Sadaharu Suga,Kazuhiro Sayama,Hideki Sugihara,Hironori Arakawa +9 more
TL;DR: The monochromatic incident photon-to-current conversion efficiency (IPCE) from 420 to 600 nm for a DSSC based on NKX-2311 was over 70% with the maximum of 80% at 470 nm, which is almost equal to the efficiency obtained with the N3 dye system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ultrafast plasmon-induced electron transfer from gold nanodots into TiO2 nanoparticles.
TL;DR: By using femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy with visible pump and IR probe to observe generation of injected electrons, plasmon-induced electron transfer from 10 nm gold nanodots to TiO2 nanocrystalline film is observed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Alkyl-functionalized organic dyes for efficient molecular photovoltaics.
TL;DR: The molecular design of alkyl-functionalized dyes strongly suggests the promising performance of molecular photovoltaics based on organic dyes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Design of new coumarin dyes having thiophene moieties for highly efficient organic-dye-sensitized solar cells
Kohjiro Hara,Mitsuhiko Kurashige,Yasufumi Dan-oh,Chiaki Kasada,Akira Shinpo,Sadaharu Suga,Kazuhiro Sayama,Hironori Arakawa +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the coumarin dyes having thiophene moieties were developed to improve the photovoltaic performance of dye-sensitized nanocrystalline TiO2 solar cells based on the organic dyes as photosensitizers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hexylthiophene-Functionalized Carbazole Dyes for Efficient Molecular Photovoltaics: Tuning of Solar-Cell Performance by Structural Modification
Zhong-Sheng Wang,Nagatoshi Koumura,Yan Cui,Masabumi Takahashi,Hiroki Sekiguchi,Atsunori Mori,Toshitaka Kubo,Akihiro Furube,Kohjiro Hara +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the photovoltaic performance of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) was improved by adding n-hexyl chains to the thiophene groups.
