Energy performance building evaluation in Mediterranean countries: Comparison between software simulations and operating rating simulation

TL;DR: In this paper, three different models for energy performance of buildings (EPB) have been analyzed and compared, in order to quantify their gap with real energy consumptions, focusing on a single-family house in Italy, and focused the differences among numerical codes and real consumption in relation with flexible architectural solutions, that are widely utilised especially in rural areas in Mediterranean countries.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermal comfort evaluation in kindergarten: PMV and PPD measurement through datalogger and questionnaire

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the results of a study about thermal comfort measurement and evaluation in kindergartens for children of 4 and 5 years of age, where the overall study objective is to compare indoor microclimate parameters, measured with a Datalogger following EN ISO 7730, and children's subjective judgment, collected through a questionnaire following ENISO 10551.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heritage buildings and energy performance: Mapping with GIS tools

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors deal with the case of Ferrara, an old town, in order to debate: - number and energy incidence of heritage buildings; - influence of typology factor for energy saving in heritage buildings.
Journal ArticleDOI

Building and fuel poverty, an index to measure fuel poverty: An Italian case study

TL;DR: The Building Fuel Poverty Index (B FP) as discussed by the authors was proposed in order to identify subjects that can afford to pay building energy refurbishment and evaluate fuel poverty condition correlated to building energy performance.
Book ChapterDOI

Assessment of the Influence of the Thermal Environment Using Subjective Judgement Scales

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the contents of the survey questions, and criteria for administration through surveys and/or interviews, and describe the criteria for evaluation of the thermal comfort of indoor environments.
