TL;DR: A global ranking of knowledge management and intellectual capital academic journals is updated and the top six journals are: Journal of Knowledge Management, Journal of Intellectual Capital, The Learning Organization, Knowledge Management Research & Practice, Knowledge and Process Management and International Journal of knowledge Management.
Abstract: Purpose – The purpose of this study is to update a global ranking of knowledge management and intellectual capital (KM/IC) academic journals.Design/methodology/approach – Two different approaches were utilized: a survey of 379 active KM/IC researchers; and the journal citation impact method. Scores produced by the application of these methods were combined to develop the final ranking.Findings – Twenty‐five KM/IC‐centric journals were identified and ranked. The top six journals are: Journal of Knowledge Management, Journal of Intellectual Capital, The Learning Organization, Knowledge Management Research & Practice, Knowledge and Process Management and International Journal of Knowledge Management. Knowledge Management Research & Practice has substantially improved its reputation. The Learning Organization and Journal of Intellectual Capital retained their previous positions due to their strong citation impact. The number of KM/IC‐centric and KM/IC‐relevant journals has been growing at the pace of one new ...

TL;DR: A structured literature review of scientometric research of the knowledgemanagement (KM) discipline for the 2012-2019 time period is presented in this article. But, the review is limited to the Journal of Knowledge Management (JKM).
Abstract: Purpose – The purpose of this study is to conduct a structured literature review of scientometric research of the knowledgemanagement (KM) discipline for the 2012–2019 time period. Design/methodology/approach – A total of 175 scientometric studies of the KM discipline were identified and analyzed. Findings – Scientometric KM research has entered the maturity stage: its volume has been growing, reaching six publications per month in 2019. Scientometric KM research has become highly specialized, which explains many inconsistent findings, and the interests of scientometric KM researchers and their preferred inquiry methods have changed over time. There is a dangerous trend toward amonopoly of the scholarly publishing market which affects researchers’ behavior. To create a list of keywords for database searches, scientometric KM scholars should rely on the formal KM keyword classification schemes, and KM-centric peer-reviewed journals should continue welcoming manuscripts on scientometric topics. Practical implications – Stakeholders should realize that the KM discipline may successfully exist as a cluster of divergent schools of thought under an overarching KM umbrella and that the notion of intradisciplinary cohesion and consistency should be abandoned. Journal of KnowledgeManagement is unanimously recognized as a leading KM journal, but KM researchers should not limit their focus to the body of knowledge documented in the KM-centric publication forums. The top six most productive countries are the USA, the UK, Taiwan, Canada, Australia and China. There is a need for knowledge brokers that may deliver the KMacademic body of knowledge to practitioners. Originality/value – This is themost comprehensive, up-to-date analysis of the KMdiscipline.

TL;DR: It seems that in developed and developing countries, organisational factors are the most frequent factors influencing successful KM in health care organisations.
Abstract: Introduction: Knowledge is a strategic resource in health care organisations and knowledge management (KM) is applied as an effective solution to overcome challenges, such as rising health care cost and increasing demands for improving quality of care. The aim of this review was to identify factors influencing the success of KM process in health care organisations of developed and developing countries. Methods: This review was conducted in 2018. The sources used for searching relevant papers were PubMed, Scopus, Science Direct, Web of Knowledge, EMBASE and Google Scholar, and the time frame was between 1980 and 2017. The search terms were KM, health care services administration, health care organisation, hospital and clinic which were combined by using AND/OR Boolean operators. Results: In this review, 13 papers were included. The main success factors influencing KM implementation in health care organisations were organisational culture, information technology, organisational structure, and performance evaluation and measurement. In developed countries, organisational culture was the most frequent factor, while in developing countries, organisational culture and information technology were the most frequent ones. Conclusion: It seems that in developed and developing countries, organisational factors are the most frequent factors influencing successful KM in health care organisations. © 2019 Health Libraries Group
