Expanding Applications of Metal−Organic Frameworks: Zeolite Imidazolate Framework ZIF-8 as an Efficient Heterogeneous Catalyst for the Knoevenagel Reaction

TL;DR: In this article, a highly porous zeolite imidazolate framework (ZIF-8) was synthesized by a solvothermal method, and used as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for the Knoevenagel reaction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Metal–organic frameworks for catalysis: the Knoevenagel reaction using zeolite imidazolate framework ZIF-9 as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst

TL;DR: The ZIF-9 catalyst was easily isolated from the reaction mixture by simple filtration and reused several times without a significant degradation in activity and there was no contribution from leached active species and conversion was only being possible in the presence of the solid catalyst as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

MOF-5 as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for Friedel–Crafts alkylation reactions

TL;DR: In this paper, a highly porous metal-organic framework (MOF-5) was synthesized by a solvothermal method, and used as an efficient heterogeneous acid catalyst for Friedel-Crafts alkylation reactions.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Zeolite Imidazolate Framework ZIF-8 Catalyst for Friedel-Crafts Acylation

TL;DR: A zeolite imidazolate framework, ZIF-8, was synthesized and characterized by dynamic laser light scattering, X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscope, thermogravimetric analysis, Fourier transform infrared, atomic absorption spectrophotometry, and nitrogen adsorption measurements as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Towards applications of metal–organic frameworks in catalysis: Friedel–Crafts acylation reaction over IRMOF-8 as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst

TL;DR: A highly porous metal-organic framework (IRMOF-8) was synthesized by a solvothermal method, and used as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for the Friedel-Crafts acylation reaction as mentioned in this paper.
