TL;DR: A multigene phylogenetic synthesis of the Lecanoromycetes based on 642 newly generated and 3329 publicly available sequences revealing relatively stable relationships for many families and orders is provided.
Journal ArticleDOI
[beta]-Tubulin, ITS and Group I Intron Sequences Challenge the Species Pair Concept in Physcia aipolia and P. caesia
TL;DR: The results obtained from the combined group I intron, ITS and β-tubulin data indicate that neither P. caesia nor P. aipolia are monophyletic and suggest that the two taxa are conspecific.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phylogeny of the Genus Cladonia s.lat. (Cladoniaceae, Ascomycetes) Inferred from Molecular, Morphological, and Chemical Data
TL;DR: Phylogenetic relationships within the genus Cladonia, including Cladina, were reconstructed based upon simultaneous analyses of DNA sequences and morphological and chemical data, and a new provisional classification for the genus is proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sequence Insertions and ITS Data Provide Congruent Information on Roccella canariensis and R. tuberculata (Arthoniales, Euascomycetes) Phylogeny
TL;DR: In this article, the first half of the SSU rDNA was sequenced and sequence insertions from each of the four positions were aligned and classified as group I introns, while the others may represent degenerative forms of group I or messenger RNA introns.
Journal ArticleDOI
The species pair concept in the lichen dendrographa leucophaea (arthoniales) : analyses based on its sequences
TL;DR: The internal transcribed spacers of the nuclear ribosomal DNA were sequenced for 16 specimens of the lichen Dendrographa leucophaea (Tuck.) Darb.
