Journal ArticleDOI
Experimental and theoretical investigations of IR spectra and electronic structures of the U(OH)2, UO2(OH), and UO2(OH)2 molecules.
TL;DR: It is proposed that the reactions proceed by forming an energized [U(OH)4] intermediate from reactions of the excited U atom with two H2O2 molecules, which reveals a distinctive difference between the chemistries of U and Th.
Journal ArticleDOI
Optical spectra of the dibromide and diiodide ions in the matrix-isolated M+Br2- and M+I2- species
TL;DR: In this article, the products of argon matrix reactions of alkali metal atoms and bromine and iodine have been studied optically in thin films on a sapphire window at 17 K.
Journal ArticleDOI
Absorption and emission spectra of Ca2 in solid krypton
John C. Miller,Lester Andrews +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a structure band at 666 nm with 117 ± 2 cm − spacings was identified and the band origin at 14 432 ± 4 cm −1, where the transition 1 ∑ + u (1 S + 1 P) ← 1∑ + g ( 1 S+ 1 S) and the bonding in ground and excited Ca 2 states fit a simple molecular orbital model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Laser photoluminescence spectra of diatomic magnesium (24Mg2 and 26Mg2) in solid argon at 12 K
John C. Miller,Lester Andrews +1 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Infrared Spectra of the CH3−CrF, CH2WHF, and CH⋮WH2F Molecules: Reversible Photochemical Interconversion by α-Hydrogen Transfer
Han-Gook Cho,Lester Andrews +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that one α-H is distorted toward the metal atom, which provides evidence of strong agostic interaction in the methylidene ground state molecules.
